Hopefully she took. Been waiting awhile for mine to mature or find a gyp to put under slick, my walker/English . She’s my best gyp and the hogs have a sore rear when she’s around. shes around two now is 2/3 my old dog ranger and 1/3 pit my catch dog. I bred her mom back to ranger and she produced two pups.  She came in a week ago. I kenneled them up. Took every precaution to make sure she didn’t get bred by a random dog. After hunting one night I let her out of the dog box for one second and she hooked up with my 30 pound mountain cur squirrel dog. Little sucker works fast. Maybe I can tell the difference.

He does got hunt I’ll give him that, just don’t know how cold nosed he is. He’s pretty accurate and if there isn’t a squirrel there’s been a obvious nest or den. Idk how well he can wind one though. He uses his eyes plenty I guess. that’s one more difference compared to slick

Well maybe he’ll add one more dimension with his visual style. To me that’s usually a sign of a thinking type dog. Brains are always a plus.

That’s what I was thinking. He’s got a lot of jukebox in him. Either or they’re gonna get their time if they bay and cast till I figure them out. Thankfully I have a male that’s filled her position. with her down time I was afraid what was going to happen.

This is one we bayed 50 yards off the road and the sob went over a mile around the lake through some small fingers. Those two were in the water for awhile. I was running and found a camo seat omw to them. I used it to float out there once my buddy got to me. Wasn’t any bass fisherman to save us that day.

You can always DNA them. CDC Veterinary in Ohio does it. You would have to do the two males, mother and the pups. Last I checked it was 35.00 a dog. They are the same people who do the DNA on the Maury show. lol

I used DDC veterinary in Fairfield OH some years ago. That is probably who you are also referring to Cajun. Cost about the same I think….

Did the dam, both potential sires and all the pups to get the results.

I appreciate the info guys. I don’t plan on selling any currently. That’s not a bad price considering. Do y’all believe she can have pups with different sires in one liter?

Yes…100 percent sure it can happen…some dog folks will breed a female to more than one stud and then DNA the pups to find out which pups each stud sired…

Let me ask y'all this if he bred her to ranger on a certain day and say 6 days later his squirrel dog got to her, if she has them 63 days after he bred to ranger they all his if it goes 6 days past when he bred her to ranger they off the squirrel dog. About the only way you will get them off both males is if they got to her within 3 days of each other. That's my opinion from life not a scientific fact.

The reason I say this is because I wanted pups out of a male one time and the way it was I could only breed her to him one time. I bred her in day 9 then got worried about her taking so in day 14 I need her to the male I usually breed to. But it came out 63 days from the day 9 breeding.

That’s also a interesting way to look at it. Slick was penned up with her once I saw her bleeding. August 17th was the day she hooked up with the squirrel dog. August 26th was the day I seen her actually hooked up to slick.

Well no comments on my thoughts I guess. For sure they can have puppies off of a few different males if they are all breeding her in the same day or even the same 3 days. But if one dog breeds her and she takes and nothing else gets to her until 5 days or more after that then they will be off the first dog. Let me know what day she has them on and what you think.
