And yes he and another dog started running it right around 7 it was in a thick river bottom so it was hard for us to keep up. They ran it in a mile long loop about 5 times then crossed the river and made a lot more loops baying 5 min sometimes but not holding really solid they finally showed bayed at 3/4s of a mile so we crossed the river and walked to them and they had a hog broke at 100 yards and we caught them at 3 that afternoon. It was so hot they both fell over within 5 min of us catching them luckily we were close to water and got them cooled off in time. So i cant say it was the same hog the whole time but it seemed like it was and i did see the 100lb hog they were running .

Dan and Ann are litter mates. Almost a year old, Ann was born with it & Dan usually makes me scratch my head, he is slowly getting it down; but as of now he ain't going to make the cut. So far Ann ain't giving much bottom but I'm hopeful she learns to stick with it Bella is 5 or 6 years old, has always been my lead. She usually gives up after a mile. Here lately she quits after 1/2 a mile, not sure why, could be the season or her being lazy, Lola is 2 years. She's doing great. Her maturity is really kicking in and hopefully she will be woods certified by January 2017! she has been a great CD just not tested in the woods like I want. I have heard that all my life and know it to be true in the bird dog world so i can only imagine it would ring true with hog dogs overall as well however I honestly havent seen it with these dogs BUT i also prefer to hunt males and keep my females at the house primarily so my outlook is biased. I do hunt my females but i use the males far more often, i like knowing that i have options to keep the line going.......and like the saying goes "if you dont have a good female you are already out of dogs, you just dont know it yet." The momma to these 2 is probably the most well put together dog ive ever raised, she is built and more importantly bred right, i havent toted her to the woods 6 times. Ive worked her on hogs multiple times in controlled environments and she does everything right in my eyes, i doubt ill ever hunt her again, she is more or less an insurance policy for me, if that makes sense. I do plan to hunt this gyp quite a bit this coming season BUT i also have a handful of other pups to start also so it is a possibility that if she starts strong and shows me what I want to see i may very well end up more or less retiring her as well and concentrate more on getting my other pups going.......but hell, who knows lol....... anything could happen at this point, i have 6 other pups to get going including 3 other females and her littermate brother..... we shall see. The first one is the Pocahontas pup. I'm hoping that he will add more nose to my dogs. They're have got a lot but I want as much nose as I can get on my strike dogs. And the second pup is a pup off my dads unregistered dogs-both parents are jam up strike dogs and will do it all alone. And the last is a pup that I had this time last year. I've got a brother to her that looks just like her in that picture that's 4.5 mints old. I was too lazy to go and take another picture when they look like twins. Lol. She is making a fine hound. And her brother is 4.5 months old and I let him go to my hog pen and run around yesterday and he is starting to bay very naturally through the pen at 250-300 ib hogs. They don't scare easily. Lol.
