Title: Foundation ybmc lines Post by: williamsld on January 23, 2024, 07:38:53 pm What have been y’all’s personal experiences with the different registered lines? Hunt? nose? bottom? Drive/heart?
I personally haven’t dabbled with them much myself just here and there looking for outcrosses…I’ve owned a few (5-6 I think) heavy wrights bred dogs and while they’d all hunt decent (6-800 yards no sign) none of the ones I’ve owned had any kind of bottom tho they’d quit 3-4 hrs into a race never good for more than 20 miles on their feet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Title: Re: Foundation ybmc lines Post by: williamsld on January 23, 2024, 09:19:25 pm I’m not trying to start a bashing thread by no means! Just looking for honest feedback, the wrights dogs I owned I caught hogs behind all of them just personally prefer a dog that’ll stick in a race for longer periods of time

I’ve seen a pile of cur dogs that wouldn’t run one over 45 mins. And people are happy to feed em. I’d say in average their spend was around a 6, when I was trying them they were hunted solo to really see what they could do without this yella blood we got doing all the work, and they’d still be going strong when they quit I understand an out of shape dog being give out and tapping out but getting legged up and just quitting that don’t work on this yardI’ve seen a pile of cur dogs that wouldn’t run one over 45 mins. I’m not saying our dogs are the best by no means but if a cur dog quits over here in 45 minutes it’s not leaving the woods….id rather dive on them 12 hrs into a hunt to get one to stop, you can alway catch a dog and make it stop…you can’t make them go if they don’t have the motor in them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Title: Re: Foundation ybmc lines Post by: BA-IV on January 24, 2024, 08:00:23 pm I agree 100%. I want it all in a dog but one think I won’t do is beg one to do its job. I suck at training dogs so it better come natural or they don’t eat my feed. Once you own a good one to set the standard, you won’t feed much else.
