Title: Lost a good one Post by: kevin on November 28, 2009, 08:56:34 am Last night one of my favorite dogs bayed her last hog. Stoli was a good dog on hunts and on the couch. Kevin O. I'm sorry for your loss and I couldn't have let a better person take her. I'm sure gonna miss her though.

Title: Re: Lost a good one Post by: Beejay on November 28, 2009, 09:18:46 am I feel you, lost a bulldog last year. He was one of my all time favorites. The way I see it, I was proud to have been able to hunt with him and proud that he gave his life doing something he loved.
Title: Re: Lost a good one Post by: BULLMASTER on November 28, 2009, 09:28:10 am I agree with Beejay,I would rather see them die doing something they love then to watch them waste away from old age.Its still tough either way.
Title: Re: Lost a good one Post by: joe on November 28, 2009, 09:35:32 am sorry to hear that man
Title: Re: Lost a good one Post by: scdogman on November 28, 2009, 09:45:51 am Kevin good is an understatement. The word great is used to much these days, but great applies in this case.
She was the kinda of dog that hopefully everyone has the chance to own at least once in a lifetime. I have been around two or three but never own one myself. Sorry for you guys loss. Title: Re: Lost a good one Post by: KevinO. on November 30, 2009, 10:18:52 am Thanks everyone and thanks to Kevin A. for giving me such a dog. I don't think there was a time you came by the ranch without first going out to the kennels to say hello to Stolie.....before coming to say hello to me. ;D She was definately the best dog I've ever owned and will be greatly missed. I had the pleasure of hunting behind her for 3 or 3 1/2 years and she taught me more about hogs and hog hunting than I could have ever learned without a dog like her.
Kevin and I were on her first hunt on and the last. The hog wasn't anything special...I think Kevin A. said it best when he said, "that hog did what a lot of hogs couldn't do". She's burried under a big post oak tree off the main road at the ranch. We'll be able to salute her every time we head out to hunt. RIP girl..........you'll never be forgotten. Kevin O'Neal Title: Re: Lost a good one Post by: elliscountyhog on November 30, 2009, 10:40:31 am Yep and end the end she still killed that hog, and it was neat to here that her offspring did it.
Title: Re: Lost a good one Post by: matt_aggie04 on November 30, 2009, 11:09:16 am That is true Kevin, it is hard to find a positive in all that but at least yall were both there and were able to try and save her as best you could. I am glad yall were able to get the hog killed too since he may have been learning a little each time the dogs got on him. Do yall have any pictures of the hog? I know Kevin A said it might have been the one that cut Craigs yellow dog, at least came from the same general area. Sorry again for both of yall, she impressed the crap out of me when I hunted with her. Pearl and the others will have some big shoes to fill.
