There are the pictures, It was wet and sloshy and continued to have moisture falling throught the day into the late hours of the evening, not the most favorable conditions to be out in. However since I had only gotten up before daylight that morning, and Circle C assured me what a fair weatherd friend I would be if I turned down his invitation to hunt behind his long range dogs in the crappy weather, I had to go along anyway. Joined by their neighbor Pablo and Lance (Catchrcall) & my Daughter, we made a round by some feeders where Circles C dogs dissapeared from. Mandi had her Lizzie gyp and had my junk and brought Lance's barely year old pup Cleadus,  so continued we continued hunting behind the normal dogs. We made a big round with nothing, dog never even acted like they got excited. WEll after Chris made an excutive decision that he needed a pickup and map to go find his dogs, we left him and Sequoia to the task of traveling to get his dogs, I was almost thinking he made need a passport to retrieve them.

Anyway the real  internet hunters decided to keep hunting, and made a round back through the feeders where we had first started from. Mandis Lizzy started a  track that took her awhile to work out in the messy weather, but she did it, and bayed up but broke before we could get her any help a littlewhile later she bayed again and Buzzard made it to her, and the bay would hold up a while and break and this went on for awhile, they finaly settled in treed in one spot as we tried making our way to them, long story short, after getting stuck, going to them on foot about 187 yds away something happend and the dogs split up and leave that area, Lances little pup goes out into the brush and we can hera him low growling and start hollering thinking he is trashing, and my junk that is close starts his chop-chop bark and  I knew it was a hog, since we are practicly on top I turn Smooch loose and Mandis dogs followed, and well,  turns out Cleadus' first strike was a nice fat sow.

I was real happy with him. I didn't expect to be there when he struck his first, since he's been hanging out down south during deer season.  He definately stays busy.  Had a good time guys, and thanks for the invite.

NICE sow!!  I think I have a picture of Cleatus chewing on a dead hog when he was about 5 weeks old.  I'll have to find it.  Sounds like he's figuring it out pretty quick.

Lance and Krystal,

Glad y'all could make it out. It was pretty neat that Cleatus pulled one out in front of the old dogs. I know I learned a few things on this hunt. First, I confirmed the reason that I run radio collars in addition to my Garmin collars. I will start a new thread about that issue. Second, when you leave your hunting party to go track your dogs, do not leave your catch dog AND your gun with them. You may just end up several miles away and find your dogs bayed, with no option but to call them out :(

Krystal,
I am going to hold off on the passport, and try separating those two. If that does not work, I am going to attach the window weights to their collars like Bryant said :D
