defintely open track is worse that can be heard for along ways. But next time just tell them before you hit the woods that this is how it works, and if they can't do it then don't take them back.

No matter how many times you tell someone to shut up and listen they will keep walking around, talking and you cant hear a damn thing.
That annoys the hell out of me. Id much rather have a dog open on track.....

hunting buddys are just like hunting dogs , if they dont fit your style let someone else have them ,  cut them from the pack

This is true.

There isn't a sweeter sound than a hound hot on a trail.

To quote Heat "I don't care if he has a monkey riding his back blowing a bugle if he can catch hog."

I dont mind an open dog but a babling hunting buddy gets on my nerves. ;D

About saw a father and son hook fight on a rice field dike one day because old pop just wouldnt shut up. ;D  You would have to know them to really appreciate it though.

I'll take a dog spitting on nasty boar saying " boil the water boss, cause his butt is caught", over a dog on a trail.
