these hogs at my club keep leaving by dogs behind anyone got any suggestions on what i should do

Find a new club  ;D  Just kidding. Do they get dogged a lot? I know around here I can tell a big difference in the hogs that get dogged a lot, they always run it seems like, just got to stick with them.

get u a fast nut dog. They can't run when they r sittin.

What kind of terrain are you hunting in?? What does your pack look like?? Are the hogs leaving the country or just circling around?? There are alot of diferrent tactics you could try out depending on what your hand looks like and how well you can predict their next move.

all my dogs are bmc they arent ruff. were i hunt is hardwood bottoms and pine thickets. some of the hogs circle and some woll run out of the county

Actually Trey! I was thinking about what I would do to change it up and get them stopped but I have also been on a burned streak as of late so I really shouldn't talk!  :D Or if I do that is all it would be is talk so I will just say keep going at it and hopefully your dogs will get it done. I would say to get you a fast rough nut dog to see what happens but like I said that is just a suggestion, I run 2 fast and pinning dogs and have come home with nothing but cramps and sob stories the past month! If a dog was biting me on the nuts... i'd be running faster! ;)

Some hogs a good nut dog will work well on... but some it will kick into high gear and they'll leave the country.

we ran them for 2 hours get them stopped for a few mins and they were gone again

Yea what he said!! Just keep huntin the hogs might be smart but them dogs will get smarter too!!

yea my gyp struck them at 600 yards and then i picked her up at 1.75 miles from us on gps. she hasnt ever been around ruff dogs so i dont think she know really what to do. this is her first year to be really hunted

try a walk hunt with one loose bay dog with no other dogs ,and turn the catch dogs to him as soon as you hear a bay.    make shure you got garmin on everything, just in case.

If they are straight running soon as the dogs get them up I dont know what you would do with a nut dog. The hog will have to stop at some point for a dog like that will help. You just have to persistent and you'll start getting them stopped.

Some days I can shut them down and catchem, some days I get out run. But I like a good challenge! ;D

I like craigs advice, i hunt that way myself most of the time.  But what works for one dude doesnt work for another....

Dogs with a lot of bottom if your huntin big acreage or really rough dogs if your huntin small properties.

We were haveing the same problem this summer, what we started doing is let one maybe two dogs go on the ground to strike and bay. Then instead of riding the 4-wheelers up to the bay and turning the catch dog loose we just walked in from 3 or 4 hundred yards and when we got 50 or so yards away and rested a second, then we would turn the catch dog in and run like h@ll right behind him because as soon as he hits and you grab the hog, the less time he has to shake the catch dog and leave town. Jus my thinkin!!!!
