i was just curious who out there still tiein their hog i still tie mine but it seems like everyone else around here just started shootin em not even stabbin just curious on yalls opinion

We tie all of ours.
The main ranch we hunt will not allow any guns for any reason.

I don’t tie mine I use hobbles I think its way easier then tying them lol...

We tie a lot of ours... but we stick a lot too. Depends on the property we hunt... some landowners want them dead and we oblige.

I've been carrying my pretty rainbow hobbles for a few years, and I have a seemingly unlimited supply of muletape.  That being said, I have used them to tie or hobble a hog less than a dozen times.  It's aweful easy to pull that knife out of my scabbord!!  I've never shot a hog that was bayed by dogs.

we're gonna be tie'n all the hogs on my new place.  it's part of the deal.  some of the landowners don't want to see dead animals being hauled down their road. :-\

now with being said i have to ask how many dogs do yall use when tieing i try to only use 1-3 strike bay dogs and one big bad walk in sure enough jerk your arm off going to the grunting and choppon sound just wanting to know since we try and sell ours try not to get it to tore up

We try to hobble most of ours for training and selling to buying stations. if we catch one that is going to be too dificult to get out, we will stick it.

We usually run 3 or 4 strike / bay dogs, and usually 2 Catch dogs. I only have one bay/strike dog that will keep biting the hog after it is caught.

I used to tie everything but a year or so ago we were coming out of a ranch and the land owner stopped to look at the hogs we had caught and we had a big boar tied up because we were going to sell it. Well he walked back to his truck and got his gun and was going to shoot it. Well I calmned him down and went and stuck the boar but he told me that he didn't want a live hog leaving his property,,,,so since then we have just stuck all of them and even when we stick em we just use 4 dogs, all yeallow black mouth except for Spanky and he is red black mouth but hes got alittle bull dog in him.

We used to hobble every one until the land owner heard about people catching hogs and taking them other places and turning them loose again. Now we stick most of em at their request. I use 3 to 4 strike dogs and 2 catch dogs on every hunt!

depends on the property owner.  most of my hunting places the owners want them dead.  a few place we can tie and sell them.

i never use a gun, unless its a really bad sistuation.

i dont carry a gun but ussually somebody in the group has one.

in 15 years i have never shot a hog peronally but my ole buck has slide in plenty of em..  ;D

We tie and hobble, we only ever had to shoot two of them. One we shot because our cd overheated and we didn't have time to tie because we needed to get to water asap, and the other one that we shot was because it was a huge boar hog and me and my husband were alone and couldn't get it loaded so we shot it and kept the head for the tusks.
