Title: Jello Powder will bring in the hogs
Post by: smeb on June 11, 2008, 01:57:19 pm
I hunt this little place in the Hill Country.  PipeCreek/Bandera area.  Its only 15 acres w/ another 15next to it.  Other then that its game fences and roads and then some more land.  However, the only time i've seen on hog on the game cam is w/ a wildberry block a year ago or so.  They never game to just the corn feeder all deer season.  I decided to put some jello powder out and bam, 8 hours later i have a hog on cam!

Yep, we've been mixing raspberry jello mix in corn for years.  If you want to make it harder on them & keep them in the area for a bit, take some posthole diggers and dig about a 3' hole & put your corn/jello concoction in the hole.  It'll take em a few days to dig it out, and in the meantime you can be plotting their demise. ;D

This sounds stupid, but my wild caught hog is addicted to donuts. The white powdery kind. You want to make her appear before your eyes? Just open a box of those donuts upwind from the neighbor's barn. She will be across the fence in no time at all! Makes me want to try it in a hog trap.

I've even seen cherry kool-aid used.
