Title: Need Advice from the Polaris Ranger Guys
Post by: bghogdogtx on February 18, 2010, 08:26:29 am
Ive been thinking real hard about getting a Ranger 700 XP. Went up to the dealership to look at them. Tryed to talk them down to "MY" price but they just laughed at me ;D, Anyway ive been checking out some used ones. and i have a few questions for you guys???

1. What would you consider Low hours on a 2007 Model and a 2008 model?
2. Is 2007 the first year they came out with the XP
3. I have heard people talk about the noise they make is there a difference between the 2007 and 2008 models.
and 4. What are some of the things i should look for on a used one, as far as wear and tear. Dont want to buy won that goes out to the mud park's every weekend.

Thanks for the Help
Brian

I dont know anything about the year models but you should check the inside of the wheels and fold the bed back and look for mud around the engine and axle. Hard to clean places that they might not have checked would give you a good indication of the conditions it was used in. Also check the oil and air filter to see what kind of maintenance was kept up on it

I just bought a 2010 Ranger XP 800 and I like it, granted I have all of 8 hours on it to date but I like it alot so far.  The newer they are the quieter they are, and while mine is not as quiete as my old mule I don't find the noise level to be too loud and I can still hear a bay over the engine running.  If you buy a new one depending on where you live I would suggest giving Normangee Tractor a call.  They beat everyone around me in a 100 mile radius by at least $1000 and they were real easy to work with.  Hope that helps some.

I had a rhino, sold it and replaced it with a ranger 700 xp.  I have not regretted it one time.  I can sit three comfortably and have a bigger bed with 2.5 times the weight capacity.  Not sure about the prices where you are located but I checked with three different dealers here in Sc and they were all within $100 on one another.  Good luck you will surely enjoy it.

Cheapest I found on a 2010 800 Ranger was $11,300 OTD, that was $800-1000 less than the other places.

I do. ;D On the trail of an 07 700 that is used but if that falls thru going to probably go with a 500HO. From what I have heard its pleanty of motor and the only differences are some gauges, the motors, and #500 less towing.

Wanted that Teryx but Kawie let me down on that deal. :(

Brian
I have a friend that goes to an auction in the Dallas area and buys rangers, four wheelers, and motorcycles. They are used but he usually finds some good deals. If you want you can pm me and I can give you his info.
