Title: out of my slump
Post by: Jeff on July 21, 2008, 04:38:30 pm
I've been trying to get started hog doggin' for over a year now, and never caught anything with my dogs - until today.  Shawn and I went to hunt with AHHOGS (Allen) on his 1100 acres.

About 30 minutes into the hunt, my bmc/plott and allen's walker start baying.  Allen turns CJ loose, and we head in.  3 baydogs caught one shoat, while the walker stayed back and bayed, and CJ had caught another shoat about 50 yards away.

My dogs have been in a lot of races, and I was beginning to think I would never catch any pigs.  Thanks to elliscounty and ahhogs, ive been on two successful hunts in a row.

I really appreciate it guys.

A hunt like that will boost your dogs confidence though so don't be surprised if they hunt a little harder next time !!
