Title: Training running bull pups
Post by: hog428 on April 05, 2010, 11:44:51 pm
This is one of the training tools I use to prepare my dogs for hogs I never live train or use any kind of boar skins hoofs or ears nothing I begin with training on movement capture and approach to the target this film shows a little about the beginning of how I train bulls that run TRACK and grab this is just the first stage of training I will wait to here from you guys if its worth showing more

any training that gets the job done efficiently is good training    i dont train my pits that way   i start and finish them on pigs this way thats all they know   my main catch dog winds hogs like a hood dog   i have seen him find and catch his own hog  ask sportsman  he was there    like i said  if u get it done then train them how u want 2

I understand what you are saying BUT I disagree when I watch you vids all you guys bull come in over the top not good teach them to come from the bottom up way less vet bills far more control I have been raising bulls for many years I have found zero pit that will not focus on the grab and as far as wind from the box look at my vids that is how I find all my hogs but from the ridges

i dont know about others pits  but mine come in from under   youll have 2 see how i hunt and how my dogs work  i run 100 percent pitbulls  and i run 2 vested an collared pits  i like 2 control both sides of the pigs head  i cut mine from 100 yrds or less so im there pretty quick   ive never lost a dog  ive never had 1 cut 2 where i couldnt keep huntin him either   our styles r different  doesnt make ures rite or wrong   we both catch hogs juyst in different ways   my hogs r also different than ures in the way that theylive   and travel and hide up  in all ways im sure  i say do wut u want how u want    ill say this 2 every dog hunter   ure gonna lose 1 now an then  thats the nature of the sport  this 1 especially   i believe that u should do as much 2 protect a dog as u can   but even still theres always a chance that 1 gonna get killed   dont b surprised when u get there and ure dog or dogs r dead   its bound 2 happen   jmo

i have a red nose and a half dogo half pit gyp that i hunt with. Have not have a catch dog cut since i started using two. They catch nothing but an ear so the hog really has no way of cutting them with a dog on both ears. And i would never run my cd witout a vest like the guy in the video did. My dogs work there a$$ off for me hunting so i am going to protect them they best i can.

I understand what you are saying and I love my dogs In hawaii I have heard of one dog wearing a vest he is dead over heat in 20 min you will find nobody IM aware of using one once I used a cut collar I watched the boar hook under it pull him in and kill him we have to much brush to run the vest I heard guys from New Zealand tried them on the big island dogs got hung up never made the catch the restriction it puts on the dog worries me

dam is this east texas piglet dogs?? i think you have more land than all thats in hawaii coyote hunter, them dogs will not last in this terrain without protection, talk to the folks who make them and ask how much they cost and if they tell you how many they sell that will tell you that you must have them if you want to keep your dogs,428 i think ur alright for developing your own style, but around here your typical hunter has to carry first aid gear and use it

I believe there are different species of Cats Claw and I don't have a picture of either of the species found here but if Hog428 can't get one I will be heading towards a place I avoid just because of the amount found there and will snap a few pictures for you guys to check out. It definately is a pain (literally)!
