Title: Question about Bayn Post by: sgt.davis on May 02, 2010, 04:36:34 pm How is a dog judged in a bayn? What are judges looking and not looking for? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Title: Re: Question about Bayn Post by: HIGHWATER KENNELS on May 02, 2010, 05:00:38 pm I know down here by the house the judge looks at different things: How close the dog bays in front of the hog, How many times he barks while hes bayin, how many times he looks out of the bay, how quick the dog lets go of the hog if the hog breaks and he tries to stop him, and if the dog makes the hog set up and stay put, and how the dog keeps his eyes on the hog even when the dog is charged by the hog.

Title: Re: Question about Bayn Post by: kbar on May 02, 2010, 08:46:54 pm I owned a bay pen and had several different judges and they all seemed to like the dog or dogs to stay far enough back were the hog stood still. A real gritty dog that stayed in the face did score as good as a loose baying dog or dogs.
