Post by: Peachcreek on May 20, 2010, 08:52:59 pm what r they doing? mine will come from where ever they are and stand right in front of me while i put it on them. when they r pups i will say collar and give them a treat when they come and let me put it on them. so now it is just what they do. when i use to have great danes if i grabbed a collar they would take off to the next county.
Title: Re: Collar smart! Post by: dub on May 20, 2010, 09:08:27 pm I got one that knows the sound of my truck door. I can't even get things from the truck without her going crazy. I started driving the truck everyday and taking her with me. I thought she would get bored sitting in the truck. A month later and she still will not let me get in the truck without her.
Title: Re: Collar smart! Post by: HIGHWATER KENNELS on May 20, 2010, 09:20:39 pm Fellers, It has got to where my plott will trash sometimes on a deer when he doesnt have it on, and I cant pour him on one when he has it on. Its like he knows that the collar makes him hurt not the scent of the deer. I have a hard time sometimes with my ole dogs when I hunt em where there is no hog sign cause if they are not wearing the collars they know that they cant get burned.
Title: Re: Collar smart! Post by: BIG BEN on May 20, 2010, 09:21:49 pm If its shock collar your talking about I got a smart pup. He runs loose 24-7, when I let another pup out he acts like an a-hole, grabbing the others ear and just flat chewing on him. I put a shock collar on him and the lil SOB will go sit on the porch and not do a thing to get zapped. This pup has never had any voltage put to him but he has seen plenty of others get zapped, so I dont know how he knows but he does.
Title: Re: Collar smart! Post by: dub on May 20, 2010, 09:26:32 pm I got one we put a brand new shock collar on. We took the collar back because it did not work. They tested it and said the collar worked just fine. I told my dad that it would be one hell of a hog dog! You hit that collar and he don't even blink!
Title: Re: Collar smart! Post by: HIGHWATER KENNELS on May 20, 2010, 09:37:13 pm Dub, I got a male catahoula that was caught on a shoat a couple of months ago, while i was flippin the shoat he wouldnt release for some reason so I turned the receiver on 5 and pushed the button of his collar while I was standing over him and he didnt blink. I could see him tense up but it took him a slap on the end of the nose to let it go. I know how it feels to get shocked with this system on 5 , cause my wife hit the button on me one day while I was holding the collar, I had fire shoot out my as*.
Title: Re: Collar smart! Post by: Tusk Hog on May 20, 2010, 10:36:28 pm Got a BMC gyp, if you put a shock collar on her she will not leave your side. Take it off and its right back to hunting. Also have an older BMC male that will screw up every once in awhile, but never will with a collar on.

Title: Re: Collar smart! Post by: landshark on May 21, 2010, 12:13:23 pm The dummie collars work pretty good. I got one male that has figured out what the remote control is, and if he don't see me with it he will try me ever now and then with the dummie collar on. |
