Title: 3 Boars in the Hill Country Post by: Randy_P on June 07, 2010, 10:31:28 pm ETHhunters and I went down and made a hunt with Lionandboarhunter (Jesse) over the weekend. Started hunting around 10 friday night and ended up with these three boar hogs by 2am. Learned two things on this hunt. One is to never eat pork ribs before a hog hunt. Second lesson was a new way of harvesting hogs when the knife is left at the ranger. It is called "RIVER ROCKING" and you will have to get lessons exclusively from Lionandboarhunter. ;D ;D Had a great time Jesse. Ready to hunt that country in the cooler weather when we can hunt all day.

Title: Re: 3 Boars in the Hill Country Post by: Randy_P on June 07, 2010, 10:41:56 pm Should have seen Jesse and Timmy trying to wrestle with that first boar. There sure was ALOT of whoopin and spurring going on. Lot of spurrin on Timmy and Jesses part with a whole lot of whoopin on the boars end of things. He was the one we got to try out the River Rocking method!!!

Title: Re: 3 Boars in the Hill Country Post by: ETHHunters on June 08, 2010, 04:27:24 pm I had a good time. Jessie has some nice places to hunt and some nice dogs to hunt with. You can kind of tell in that first picture but that hog had the biggest feet I have ever seen. Cward you know Im lost when theres no rope or hobbles to be put on. The knife I carry is only big enough to cut cods!
Title: Re: 3 Boars in the Hill Country Post by: matt_aggie04 on June 08, 2010, 04:31:57 pm Since no one wants to guess, did yall shove a sharp rock in him like a knife? Cause from the look of all the trauma to his chest cavity you either did that or pushed him off a cliff on to some "river rock" haha

Title: Re: 3 Boars in the Hill Country Post by: Randy_P on June 09, 2010, 07:36:15 am After what seemed like an hour watching that boar whoop up on Timmy and his bulldog and Jesse trying to quarter that rascal up on the move they decided to hand him off to a fresh set of hands. All I hear is "lets rock him since the knife is not working" Next thing I know Nolan Ryan aka: Jesse, steps on the mound and starts blistering the boar with 100mph fastballs right on his big ol' knoggin!! Timmy could not be out done and tries his hand at it as well. Finally we dispatch the big boar and move to the second one which went as things normally go. Had a great time and got to watch some great dogs do what they do best.
