Title: 6-20-10
Post by: chainrated on June 21, 2010, 09:56:49 am
Jeremy finally decided to start huntin again so we loaded up and went yesterday. Shawn jeremy and I loaded my 4-wheeler ,4 dogs and ourselves into a little boat rated for 400 lbs and headed out.. There was a good 1/2 inch of the bow still out of the water so we figured , no problem.. Took a little longer to get there than we had planned but I never had any doubt we would make it..  :D
Found a little sign and turned loose and Patrick ended up with a walkin bay on this one. Shawn sent Brinks and they shut it down. Sent Lop and had the first one caught..

We went on to another spot and found a wallow and dropped Brinks and Pat. They made a few loops and finally found the hog layed up in a briar patch.. Got about 5 or 6 bay barks out before she made a run for it. This has got to be the Fastest Big ,Fat , farm hog looking sow I've ever seen. She ran about 3 miles in about 30 minutes before they got her stopped in another briar patch, of course . We got around to them and sent Lop again and got her caught. It was about 150 degrees by then so we called it..

The dog in the second pic is Brinks, the one that looks like a reverse blackmouth. He's all growed up now..

Hell of a deal there, please tell me you cut em loose because trying to keep a hog that big alive in this heat would be nearly impossible.  I have a grandpup out of that patrick dog, I like her so far but she is only 8-9 months old, hope she turns out like her pawpaw haha.  What do you guess that blue ribbon sow weighed?

She was at least 250 and probably more.. She would have got you at least 2nd place at the county fair   .
The place we were hunting was a catch and release only. So they both alive and well..
Matt, what is your pup off of? I didn't know Patrick was a grandpa..

Great job and nice hogs.  I'm on the trail of an all white boar that a land owner has seen several times sure hope I get him.  I once had a wild white sow.  I just thank that wild white pigs are awesome.  Thanks for sharing.

Matt, D-man got to Brittany when she was in heat, I didnt intend to ever breed her but you know how that goes  :o  Kevin O has the one I raised out of that litter now.

10  4..  Them young dogs can do some amazing things sometimes when they get that smell in their nose   ..
Maybe 1 or 2 of them will be worth feeding.. How is D-man's leg doin?

SC, Rain is bred to a dog named Bolt that a buddy of mine owns. He's off these same dogs..
