x2 i bought the one from there. In the open, i could pick up my collar in the yard at about 2 miles.
used it in the woods for the first time, and could pick them up at 900 yards without having it extended.
Its not quite as good as the garmin long range, but it does add a good bit of range. Worth the 30 bucks to me!!!

well the last time i huntd, i ahd a dog that didnt want to come back to the boat and i was pikn him up on the unti at 3/4ml in the woods. there wasnt much for draws and hills, mostly flat but is farely dense with trees and underbrush but i could still pik him up that far away. i hav a collar that i will loose signal anywhere from 100yds and out past 400yds, same terrain. may have to send the collar back but i tried to get ahold of garmin it the voice said my wait time was 45min b4 the nxt associate could help me and it was at 11am, didnt think there would b that many folks havin issues and callin in at that time durin a work day.

I hadn't seen these before but love the idea.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Just ordered one and can't wait to try it out.

I would just be careful with those...the antenna connector on the hand held unit itself is pretty frail.  Start swinging the unit around with that antenna extended, and you'll break the solder connection and be sending it off to Garmin.

Should have mentioned, but the same goes with connecting and disconnecting the regular Garmin long range.  Barely even finger-snug on the connector is sufficient.
