What's yalls two cents on them

I know a guy who used to have one ... suppose to have been a jam up dog

always been intrested in one or a cross   this will be  intresting

I just got one he is pretty rough and will get out and hunt but haven't had much dealing with them

I know a few guys that will swear by them and others who have gave them a try and are now trying to get away from them.

my buddy got one last year, she is a jam up gyp.  kinda reminds me of a jagd, very fast learner.  only thing i noticed is she runs a little hot.

back in the 1980's and early 1990'sI raised some for hog dogs but they didn't hunt as well as the mtn curs nor caught as good as the pit bull. The mtn curs that I raised were of fair size and had lots of grit so I quit raising airedales. I raised different strains of airedales and in the early 1980's when I first started hunting hogs I bought one from an old man in Illinois who said that most people didn't know how to breed a good airedale. This one weighed about 50 lbs, he bayed and he caught quite a few hogs by himself. I used him as a find dog and stop/catch dog but he would not trail very far, just like most airedales I kept. However, they would trail all the way and stick as long as they were running with the mtn curs. If I had the room I would keep 1 good one. I raised the sandhill bloodlines for a little while. I had 2 airedales that were pretty good. They were a cross with the sandhill and the large type from the Mena, Arkansas Quachita kennels. They ran with the curs and helped with stopping and catching. They are super rough on most game but will back up and circle/bay a bad boar... I didn't like having to clip them, another negative. When I hunted them by themselves they would run silent and catch. Didn't have a tracking system back then so had to listen for a squeal...

The right mtn curs are hard to beat for finding and sticking to the track.
The right pitbull can't be beat for a catch dog.

I knew a 2 brothers who liked 1/2 pit 1/2 airedale for a running catch dog.

Half mtn cur 1/2 pit is a good running catch dog.

digemdown had a nice half dale half cur, muleman had a jam up 80 lb strike/no bark dale that was the sh!t. i dont know if that was the exception to the breed but it has always made me want to try one....

I have been around a good many of them and crosses. A friend of mine hunts them and I have them crossed in my dogs.  He has three registered ones now.

They are generaly kinda hot nosed with a lot of hunt, bottom and gritt. Good dogs in my oppinion and cross good with hounds.

They are deffinately tuff as nails.

Dont know much about them but have always herd that they are REAL rough!

It's not easy finding the right size mtn curs for hogs and some might open too much on track but when you find the right ones they can hunt with the best of them... :)

talk to  Marshall on here he had some jam up ones .. maybe he can tell you about them ..he is around  Huntsville area..

I raised my own for almost 20 years and then got out. I bought 2 female pups from Marshall several months ago. I expect for these females to be at least good but hoping for real good. The plan is to breed them to the right male and cull hard and have a jam up pack within 2 years...
Marshall has some old style of kemmers that are somewhat larger with good length of ear. They somewhat resemble what I kept in the back yard.

i have a couple of 1/2 staghound  1/2 airedale about 3 1/2 yrs old.............fast as lightning, tough as nails.  have ran airedale crosses in years past with my catahoula strain.  had one 1/2 airedale 1/2 pit and he was the toughest sob i have ever owned,.  the airedales are a very under rated dog in my opinion-----they have the prey drive, good noses and no fear......i think they mix with cur dog blood and make real good dogs.....pigstkr

Grizz,  I've got one you can try. 6mo male 1/2 airdale-1/2 bmc. Good looking dog. Kimda reminds me of the GRINCH on that kid show. Hes barked at a cow. Never seen a hog. Probably be a good dog.

I saw one on TV one time and thought its was a pretty cool looking dog.   :D

I have this full blood that is the real deal on the hood or ground but if he barks you better have some bad back up!!! ;D

I would run an entire pack of them if they didnt get overheated so easy.

A buddy of mine had one we ran for a couple of years. His name was Hairy and was not a bad dog. He was hot and cold. Some days he could not be beat and other days not so good. I don't ever remember him being cut but he was a gritty dog. I would not mind giving another one a try.

I had some dealing with them years ago!
I think they are neat dogs but they did not fit my style of hunting!!
But I did like the dog in genral!!
They were also a regstered breed that people sold pups off of and never culled right!!
