Title: 10-03-10 Hunt Post by: Mike on October 03, 2010, 04:19:06 pm Me and UNDERDOG headed into town this morning to get away from all the deer hunters. Bayed and caught this ragedy old sow about ten minutes into the hunt. It was also Tink's first hunt, my female AB. We cut her and Shiner loose and she went right to the bay and caught hard right on top of the snout. Judging from the sound, she has a pretty hard bite. ;) The weather was real nice, time to start hunting good again.

That sow reminds me of one we caught in the 09 TDHA tournament. We went on a hog killing spree and were back tracking and getting the pork gathered up. It was dark and I picked up a old sow and immediately dropped here back down. She was pretty poor and rank and I thought I made a mistake and grabbed a hog that had been dead for a couple days. It was a dang pretty moring/day....we saw a bald eagle first off in the morn. Also saw a ton of buck scrapes....I mean a TON...one every 5 ft or so in some spots. A real nice day to be out with the dogs. I had a good time. There is no place to escape bow hunters here. I would have taken her this past weekend. I turned out for 15 minutes, and just had an eary feeling about the dogs taking off. Rouned up and loaded everyone in the Ranger. Trailered everyone and went to fill feeders. Congrats on your hunt.
