Title: What now? Post by: tnhillbilly on December 02, 2010, 12:51:33 am Well, I am just about frustrated, and just started, and fixin to end my carrier with AB's. Most of you know my deal, got a female, took her to FL to get bred, spend ALOT of time and money, she skips her heat cycle, 6 months later, got her bred, got her back home, and guess what? she didnt take >:( >:( >:(
Sorry for the boo hoo, just so dang aggeravated, ( I dont cuss, but if someone will write it down, I'll sign it!) ;) Going to call the breeder, but, am i just out everything? or should i ask for another breeding, or a pup, or just cut my losses and move on? Suggestion: you might already do this but just in case you don't, make sure the female poses before making the trip. I rub my hand up along her rear leg toward the base of her tail and see how she responds. If I get the right response I make the trip, or you can test her with a short dog. Another thing, did someone witness a tie with the two dogs? If she has never been bred before I would breed her the first time close to home to make sure she is fertile. Title: Re: What now? She wasnt actually in heat when i took her down there, just due to come in. He sent me a pic of them tied. That was my mistake and lesson learned, defenitly should have at least took her to the vet and had her checked out before jumping the gun, but whats the odds? Eddie should make it right. I think i might just try to get a pup or something, i think im about done with this female. But having said all of this i am not 100% sure yet, just 99%. Her due date is in 2 1/2 weeks, the week before christmas, and she is not showing any signs at all. Title: Re: What now? I finally talked to eddie, he is good feller to work with. We are currently trying to work out a deal now. During all this frustration and e-malis, PM's, and phone calls, i happaened to remember that i have had this happen before with a pit i used to have. Bred her 2 -3 times before she finally caught, so maybe there is still some hope. If nothin else, at least i will have a catch dog. lol |
