Title: Stuck my first pig Post by: GAhunter on January 02, 2011, 01:00:09 pm I'm just getting into hog doggin, been hunting several times, but this is the first hog I've been on on a hunt. I invited curdogsforhogs down to a farm I've got permission to hunt. They've been having a hog problem for a few months now. We let the dogs out right at dark. His dogs worked hard for us for a couple of hours but we weren't seeing much fresh sign. Curdogsforhogs was about ready to hang it up for the night when his bird/bull Emma bayed the hog up in some THICK stuff about 600 yards out. Bill and Candy (BMC's) made their way to the bay. We struggled through thick stuff and across a big creek to get to her. Karma (pit CD) got to the boar and sealed the deal. Curdogsforhogs legged him and I got my first stick. He guessed the boar's weight around 275 and he had a 3.5 cutter on one side with the other side broke off. I was and still am pumped!!!! Thanks Curtis for making the trip down!

I planned on doing a skull mount but one of his cutters was broke off and the farmer's 5 year old was begging for the head. When his dad told him he didn't need it, he was tore up. I felt bad and let him have it.
