the only good thing i see that will help the hog doggers is "how mean and dangerous the hogs are" they talk about them like their just killers, i think that might help us, but i wish i had hogs coming im my yard like them people in florida id put a corn feeder in the front and back yard.

Am I the only that thinks people being scared of the vicious hogs as a problem? How many landowners are gonna let hog doggers on their property with out Liabilty Insurance? "Hogs can now hurt you if you disturn them, and I don't want that happening on my property" kind of attitude now has been fueled by the major hype of Reality TV

well one good thing about hogs is they multiply fast and if they ever do stop hog dogging that will be a big mistake because, they will eventually root the highway up and when the farmers start loosing even more money that will somehow get in taxes in our favor, i just hope it never comes to it, i think what hurts us the most if you tube, it see alot of videos on there that hurts us worse than them tv shows but maybe it wont ever come to anything

x2 on that, as usual they are over sesationalizing it and only going to make it harder on those of us who dont act like that.  I am waiting for the day we have to carry liability ins, we would probably get it now if I could  out how to get it.....these people have NO BUSINESS on tv Imo.  They remind me of our neighbors rolleyes

I have to carry a GL policy for me, my dogs, and everyone that hunts with me on about half of my places.  Its not expensive but I tell the landowners that require it that I won't charge for my services but they are paying the premium.  $800/yr or less isn't much when the hogs just took over $10k from the them the night before and no end in sight.

If anyone needs contact info for general liablity policies for hunting activities shoot me a PM.  Its painless and the turnaround is quick.

2 trips to the same ranch in Texas and only pull out 1 hog, this one out hunting dont look very productive. Once the hogs hit the woods it was over.

Right now the biggest challenge for most hog doggers is finding a place to hunt. But the human population growth is wiping out our natural habitat. I can see that sometime in the future we will have to breed less hounds and long range curs and start breeding hotter nosed dogs that will catch right away because of the smaller tracts of hunting land.

I just hope that this TV show does not work against us somehow...

Do you honestly think that they went to that ranch, somehow only caught one hog and it was miraculously that monster? I doubt it... Just like the other guys, they aren't catchin just a couple hogs a week. There is thousands of hours of film of all these guys catchin hogs and only  about ten min of film for each team makes the screen.

Thousands of hours?  Come on man...
If they hunted for 6 months straight, 10 hours a day thats only 1,800 hours....

I feel sorry for anyone who has to hunt for "thousands of hours" just to get enough footage for a TV program that according to you isn't really interested in the good footage anyhow.

Judging from the blog page on discovery channel, I will be surprised if it continues to air past another episode or two. People are HOT, and I'm not talking just hog doggers. Johnny public wasn't ready for this, especially not the editing and the cut dog drama. I don't care how professional you think you are, once editing is done with you, you will look like a rank amateur. I do feel bad for these folks. Whether editing made them look hokey or whether they really are well dressed wannabes, this publicity has not been kind to them in any circles. At any rate, the fella with the trap is putting down more pork than two different dog hunters, and we know that dogs are more effective than how they are being portrayed.

Cheers
M

I can testify to this being FACT--- I use to jump fences back when I started NOT NO MORE it is not worth it just to get a hog---- other problem is land has been bought off by folks from other states and they won’t let you in their land no matter what because they think you are going to sue them if you get hurt not even legal weavers work no more ---so they rather see their lands destroyed before they give you access---

I tell you what though --- if the times comes where I need to hunt for survival they can ki$$ my arse because I am getting them hogs by any means necessary--- and I have a leg on em

"If it is againts the law for a man to fend for himself--- then outlaw I am"

Cannot throw a blanket statement that ALL city folks are like this ---or a problem--- I personally know some pretty cool northerners but even then they still bring that fear of getting sued that has been DRILLED in their heads, it’s a mentality I believe.

The worse is they buy the land and sit on it and do nothing with it--- it’s just sitting there BUT God forbid you walked through it or in it and they fnd out you be in a heap of trouble--- most them do not even live in the state--- it’s a bit of a mess.

After the first episode, I was not real sure how the L3 crew could get much worse. I mean, I already made my comments about little Miss and her bling & pink knife, which I thought was tacky to say the least.

However, after Sunday's episode - I have reconsidered and realize that it is getting worse, everytime they put the cameras on L3 my whole family cringes - like, "what are they going to do/say now"! These people are so in to making their 15 minutes of fame, that they are not doing themselves or their dog any favors. Anyone else but me think that big old great dane is one hog away from a heart attack? That has got to be the worst shape I have seen a dog in after catching a hog in a long time. And he sure didn't have to run him far, they drove him right to the hog in the Mule! LMAO!!!! These people are a joke!!!!! I wish they had a blog on their website so we can tell them to pull the next episodes and save some face!

Also, did anyone else notice that the Aussie guy was in the pen tying a hog, while someone was poking the sow with a stick to make her move. It was only a split second, but we had it on DVR and it is clear as day. Just like I stated last week - staged for TV viewing.

If you already realize the show looks "staged" and is editted and shot for entertainment purposes only and not a "hunting show" for hunters but rather something to get the general public talking and watching, than the real laughable part is that you are so critical and insulting of another hog dogger. Like some of you have mentioned before due to editting, you don't know if that big dane had to run a mile and hold it for a half hour and they could have just cut that part out so it looks like he only ran a few yards... and got all wore out over nothing.

That's like knowing the WWF and Hulk Hogan are fake and more choreographed than a ballet but then criticizing them on whether or not they used proper wrestling form and technique!

I can tell you this hand - they can edit the dog out of a one mile run, but they can't edit out Josh!!!!!! That big ole' boy would have needed the sunrise to make his camera shot before catching his breath! LMAO!!!!!! You can take up for the L3 crew all you want, they make hog dogging look bad. She is all hyped up over the dog getting cut, then they play it down. PETA is going to love this!!!!

if you are not a hunter the show looks good. and is filmed to be hunter positive. only a hunter can tell you that the people are idiots. Just keep in mind the show is to entertain and educate non hunters  of the importance of hunting. i do think that with experience and guidance the Florida boys could be good. as for the Dane he looks great on camera even if he cant get the job done. in my kennels he would be culled but than i would have never tried to train a Dane. back in the day Great Danes were great hunters but over time  the hunting instinct was bread out to make better pets and that’s were they should stay.  As for the show as long as they keep the positive look on hunting I will watch and support it. just my opinion

yes i saw that right away without the dvr its TV what did you expect they are trying to make it exciting. they are making the hogs out to be the vicious beast we all know
