I think the guys to much of a coward to shoot your dogs if he didn't have the balls to talk to y'all in person and left a cute little note.
I would try and talk to him and get it settled before I hunted near his place again, just in case.

I think a phone call to the police and a few hundred dollars in IR Game cams around your kennels would sure go a long way to preventing anything stupid from happening.  And if it did, well you kinda got him by the short hairs.

Being a former deputy sheriff, I always try to use the "cooler head" approach. Obviously, this game came onto his property univited and left a note. I would surely make sometype of phone call to the sheriff department so a report is on file that this man has threatened your dogs w/ death. Then, and only then would I pursue anytype of conversation with the man.

I am a hot headed dago/coonass all in one. Some man come on my property and leave a note that he is going to kill my dogs...........uhm- Houston we have a problem! Just saying, make a report in case it escalates you have it documented and save the note!

Yup X2 I get hot real fast when someone makes a threat. I can help out with a camera system. It can even notify you when movement is detected. I don't mess around. I like video because there is no arguing the facts. Then even if he leaves a note you can prove who did it.

file a report with the local LEO's and if you know he is tresspassing then call it in to the gamewarden and sheriff dept. i aint using my cam n ur welcome to use while im gone, wont be needing it for a yr. i wouldnt get caught doing it, but you can set a trap for him so the next time he comes on the property u will have him. make a bottle neck path leading to some 30/30 coni bear traps, they jump high enuf to catch him by his short hairs. just say you were trapn bobcats. ;D

X2 Definitely handle above the law. This is the kind of situation that could get ugly fast and you want the law on your side. That I why I like video.

Yall havent seen hot headed yet.  I got a call from a buddy I hunt with and he told me of a rumor about someone in the area that wants to pay someone to steal a good strike dog.  This same guy just a couple of weeks ago was trying to find out who I am because he heard about my dogs.  I wanted to go have a little talk with him, but my buddy talked me out of it.  He knew it wouldnt be just a little talk.  Sorry, I'm still venting.  Anyways, Dub, if you can help me out with a system that wont break me, I would like to talk with you.  Thanks   Patrick.

Derrick, I don't know.  All I know is the guy was asking a lot of questions about me.  He was calling people he knows in Yoakum trying to figure out who I am and what kinda dogs I have.  Then I heard about this.  I will hurt this squirlly little punk if I hear of anyones dog missing.  I absolutely hate a thief.

Now go put a note on his door. "Please leave my dogs alone." No threats just so he knows that you know where he lives. I would be tempted to have a nice friendly conversation with him.  ;D But no threats.
