Title: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: Noah on January 26, 2011, 10:35:46 pm Here's a random thought for yall....
Mosh Pitts.... One of my many quirks... I like's me a good mosh pitt.... ;D Any of yall whipper snappers ever experienced a proper one ?? ?? ?? ;D Been in some real good one's(and some nasty one's ;))in my day.... For those of you that don't know what one is... It's typically a hard-rock-n-roll concert that fuels a typically "agressive/testosterone-infused... YET PLAYFULL ;D" atmosphere.... While the band plays, a circle or "pitt" developes as the music builds to the "intense" parts ;) Those that choose to be in the pit, "share their enthusiam" with each other by "bouncing off each other like one of those ping-pong ball lottery blowers".... ;D The key is... you can be as agressive as the pitt allows... arms down(with the lights on ;)) .... help your fellow mosh-pitter up when he/SHE(yes there are some RANK girl mosh-heads) get's put down.. and take any doosh-bag out that don't follow the "rules" ;D Ahhh... good times... hard to understand untill you've experienced it... trust me ;) ;D Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... LOL He has never been hurt in them other than a bruise or two but he has told me about him helping people off of the floor so that they dont get hurt....This is a little off subject but one of his buddies loves to crowd surf and at the last concert they were all laughing at him because he was crowd surfing and there was a bare spot in the crowd and he got dumped on his head. Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: Noah on January 26, 2011, 10:58:16 pm Owwwwwww!!!! I've seen that too! That's why I NEVER CROWD SURF!!!!! NEVER KNOW WHEN THAT WAVE GONNA END.... but it usually end on concrete!!!!!!! ;D
We all joke about wakin' up with "mystery bruises" after a good concert lol ;D Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: tuskbuster on January 26, 2011, 11:20:39 pm ya aint posta take the plants from the jungle back home Noah rolleyes

I am with Dinah on the whole loud, loud music thing, not my cup of tea, my favorite music is to hear the dogs bay. Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: Purebreedcolt on January 27, 2011, 07:14:48 am Lol I would have never guessed noah. U seem so almost reserved on here. That is crazy

J/K you need to figure out how to post up some of these video you take, especially after this coming weekend! Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: KevinO. on January 27, 2011, 11:56:48 am LOL! I just love it! ;D
I'm looking forward to this weekend. Last year we caught 14 hogs in one day. It records onto a standard SD card. It shouldn't be hard to figure out but then again.....I am originally from Texas. ;D If I was only born in Oklahoma......I'd be a genius. LOL! KO Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: hoghunterdfw on January 27, 2011, 12:08:21 pm Hell yeah! we are talking about actual mosh pits? and I figured it was going to be a thread about "florida swamp bulldogs" you can't growup in Dallas with awesome bands like Pantera and not know what a good mosh pit is all about. but with all things, seems like now a days they are smaller, weaker, and not as hardcore as the ones I remember back in the 90s
Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: jordan22 on January 27, 2011, 12:18:25 pm i went to a god smack concert and was in the mosh pitt.....it gets pretty rough with god smack because a lot of the time lights are off and the everyone is throwin blows at each other
Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: Circle C on January 27, 2011, 12:20:22 pm I've never been in a mosh pit, and hope that I never am. However, as a kid I would go with my older brother to concerts. He liked Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer to name a few. I remember going to a Metallica concert after the black album was released. I was probably 12 or so, and this head banger in front of me got to banging and his long hair popped me in the eyeball... Stung like an SOB.
Once I was old enough to drive myself, if I was going to see a live band, it was gonna be Texas Country, or Chris LeDoux. ;) Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: catchrcall on January 27, 2011, 12:27:31 pm I think we used to call that a "brawl"
Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: Mike on January 27, 2011, 12:28:14 pm I've been in a few back in the late 80's in high school... ah, the good ol' days! ;D
I finally grew up and got back to my country roots, but Metallica's black album concert at the Summit in Houston is the best show I've ever been to. ;) Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: Circle C on January 27, 2011, 12:30:56 pm Mike,
You didn't happen to have long hair and like to bang your head did you? If so, that might have been you that popped me in the eye at that concert. ;D Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: Mike on January 27, 2011, 12:32:25 pm Maybe! ;D
Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: dub on January 27, 2011, 12:37:33 pm I used to make the guest list because I would always start em and we would keep them under control ;D it is fun until someone acts stupid. That is when it good to have friends that know how to help. One low and one high stops em fast!
Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: djhogdogger on January 27, 2011, 03:33:28 pm Mike, You didn't happen to have long hair and like to bang your head did you? I think that Eddie Van Halen started that whole craze! Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: cajunl on January 27, 2011, 04:01:39 pm I'd rather drink beer, dance with good looking women, and listen to some good steel guitar! ......
Then jump around and fight with a bunch of dudes in a pit Just me! :) Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Title: Re: Mosh Pitts.... Post by: aladatrot on January 27, 2011, 04:40:16 pm Mr Harold Mosh, formerly of Livingston, TX created his line of hunting Pits in the early 1950's. While there was not a hog explosion at the time, Mr Mosh and his son Ricky used the Mosh bred dogs as hunting dogs for many species of game. The dogs exhibited tremendous drive, lots of heart, good temperaments with humans and other dogs, and were a pleasant line to be around. Lacking the huge heads and shorter legs that are present in modern strains of Pitt Bulls, Mosh bred dogs carried good bone, length of leg, and had sufficient wind power to hunt loose. To say they were able to be trash broken could not be stated, as Mr Mosh used his dogs on all game, from rabbits to deer. They were true hunting dogs, and Mr Mosh was known to hunt them both singularly and in small packs. Unfortunately, Mr Mosh passed away in the early 1980's, and Ricky Mosh was tragically lost in a vehicle accident in 1989. Since then, the true Mosh bred pits have been more or less lost to the wave of modern bred pit bull dogs today. There are some Mosh bred dogs left, but the line has not been kept pure since Mr Mosh passed away. Once he was gone, Ricky was known to use outside influence, and was even rumored to have used some AB as well as YBMC to diversify the line to more specialized forms of hunting.
Dang, yall had me going with the Mosh Pits. I thought you were talking about catch dogs. Cheers M |
