Title: Newby
Post by: Lmills on January 27, 2011, 09:29:57 pm
Hey guys!
I am a newcomer to the amazing sport of hog doggin...I have been hunting with good friends quite a few times and I love the adrenaline rush that comes with hunting hogs. I don't have any dogs of my own but I hope to have one or two in the near future! I love reading about everyone's hunts and I hope to put a few stories of my own on here soon. This girl is always ready to hunt!

If you read she said "This girl is always ready to hunt!" Maybe you need new glasses ;D Just messing.

But if you don't say where you are nobody will ask you to hunt.

Sorry that is down right funny to me. I am not laughing to hard but a chuckle or two. I guess that is better than dealing with the other end of the horse. ;D Still working to get a day but will let you know.

Oh, an equine dentist! How awesome! I am one of darren smith's clients, as I am from around Houston. I think darren is president of some organization of equine dentists. Here in Texas they are having a tough time. The state licence board is refusing to recognize them without a degree in veterinary medicine. I whole heartedly believe they should licence equity dentists without being vets. Human dentists don't have to be medical doctors. Seems a huge double standard.

Welcome!
Cheers

Oklahoma just became legal last july... In november TX supposedly was supposed to drop all court cases against non-vet equine dentists and they were making a break through with the board but I havent heard much of what has been going on lately. All I know is that Vet school does not teach hardly anything about Equine Dentistry and the Equine Dentists specialize in the horse's mouth and can prevent a lot of problems that Veterinarians do not have very much experience with. Glad to hear you are on the band wagon with us believers!! If only we could educate everyone that Equine Dentists aren't bad!!

My vets are believers too. They do easy floats, but they refer horses that need more than some edges knocked off to an equine dentist. It's a good deal for the vets to acknowledge that the dentists are better equipped to handle the care of the mouth. Glad to hear OK has gotten things right, and I hope Texas does. Once that is tackled, we should work on equine chiropractors and equine sports therapists getting licences without a vet degree. I drank that koolaid a long time ago!

Cheers
M
