Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: gottagettem on January 31, 2011, 08:42:29 pm i called a couple of the ranger station or the phone numbers at the bottom of the book page....but sum dont have them.... i use to deer hunt sum of them lands lots of hogs on them......i would be willing to travel and camp out to run that land again..if u find out anythingh let me know
Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: BULLMASTER on January 31, 2011, 11:31:30 pm If you buy the permit they will give you a book explaining the rules as far as dogging goes on each unit. Many in southeast/east Texas allow you to catch hogs by any means necessary year round.Just make sure you have on an Orange vest.I think I paid 45 bucks for the permit and it was worth every dime.
Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: bailey508 on February 01, 2011, 05:55:09 am we run dogs on white oak wma...its only in february and the first two weeks are draw hunts only...if you put in for a draw and got it then u can use your atv...other than that...your on foot...tons of pigs though
Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: CONNOR on February 01, 2011, 06:42:01 am No ATVs will be allowed at Whiteoak this year. I just talked to Jerry Ash the last day of duck season and he said it will only be for handicapped hunters even during the february hog season. I also looked it up on TPWD website.
Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: bailey508 on February 01, 2011, 03:22:44 pm according to the book and the admin over it...the first two weeks of february were for draw hunts only....if you were drawn then they are done the same way as the deer hunting draw...you can take your atv but you have to stay on the designated trails...which is useless for dog hunting...

Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: RyanI on February 02, 2011, 09:53:11 pm Every time i have hunted White oak creek my dogs get in with somebody elses dogs kinda sucks hard........
Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: bailey508 on February 02, 2011, 09:57:53 pm the dog season is the entire month of February...first fourteen days are draw hunts only and you can use atv's...second two weeks is open to everyone, but no atv's .....im not going to worry about our dogs getting in with other packs this year cause nobody wants to walk hunt.
Title: Re: hunting on type two land Post by: RyanI on February 02, 2011, 10:53:23 pm I walk hunt every time I have gone.
