Title: 2/5 and 2/6
Post by: Cull Buck on February 08, 2011, 07:21:22 am
We met with court, tait, sticka and a couple of their friends for a saturday morning hunt.  We ended catching 4.  Nothing real special but one of their buddies got to stick his first hog so that was cool.

On Sunday we meet up with court, tait, and AaronBMC and HBR.  We caught 4 more including a nice boar.  HBR brought his GoPro video camera and that thing is pretty slick.  It gives a completely different perspective on the hunt.

The boar below took us a good chase.  We had just killed a shoat in the middle of a big block of woods.  About the time we are going to head back to the machines we look around and peachez is gone.  The garmin shows her at 900....950....978.... so we know she has rolled out on another hog.  By the time we make it back to the machines she is 1.62 miles and showing treed.  By the time we get there she is still treed but because of the wind you can barely hear her at 150 yds out.  We sent in another cur to lock in the bay and then led in the CD's.

I can't remember this kids name (think it was Joey ???) but it was his first stick.  Pretty sure he loved every minute of it.

We caught this good boar on Sunday.  He went 196lbs on the scale with real nice teeth.  The dogs never really shut him down.  They were all pulling hair and trying to shut him down but he wanted to get out of dodge so we ended up with one of those slow moving bays.  By the time we got to where we could see, the hog was moving and spinning like a red tornado crashing thru the river bottom..  The curs looked like a bunch of yellow jakcets working his butt over.  We finally got the CD's to him and it was over.  I don't know how but the curs came out with out a scratch.  He is now in a pen teaching young curs lessons in backing up. ;D

Awesome red hog guys.
Nice title to your post too
Peaches has a couple of half siblings that are starting to hit the woods.  I believe ol Brandy is a pretty good producer.
