you can hunt them how ever you want...  she is very independent. she went 1.5 miles by herself today. i have been through a few jagds and she is only the second one that i REALY like. i think they are a asset to the curs and hound in thick stuff.

do they bark on trail, do they bay the hog, are they all catch? Are they used more to flush the hogs out? they seem the right size to get thru the palmettos and briar's. I like them!

if you are realy interested in a jagd then do your research first... as a breed they are supposed to be open but they all are not open. yes they bay. some catch. no they are not used to flush. they are used to find and hold a hog like any other dogs but they do many other jobs too, blood trail, retreive both land and water, and do ground work. depend on how you train then and what you want out of them. they are very smart and need to be worked often. they are not good for guys who would only use them a few times a year ; an ocasional wounded deer or an ocasional dove hunt. i hunt weekly and sometimes that is not enough.... i love to talk jagds and learn about them so if you are interested in the breed maybe i can help you or point you in the right directtion give me a call.
