Title: Re: Proper way to vacinate puppies Post by: TimmsHogDogs on March 28, 2011, 09:39:44 am If you have parvo in your yard or area you can give them their first 5-way at 5 weeks old if not give it to them at 6 weeks, then another at 8-9 Weeks, a 7-way at 12 Weeks old and another 7 way at 15 weeks. Give them a Rabbies vaccine at 6 months. Deworm them starting at 2 weeks old, every week until they hit 8 weeks old. It is best to alternate worming medicine. I use Panacur and Strongid-T but the vet was out of Strongid-T this time so I bought RFD from tractor supply and it is almost the same as Strongid-T.

I'm not saying that u will lose ur pups to parvo but try getting it at the vet.

My vet will come out to my truck and give the shots in the truck. Just find a good country vet. I like vets that work with horses because they can handle large dogs.

I'm not saying that u will lose ur pups to parvo but try getting it at the vet. we ran into the same problem with our beagles getting the meds at the coop during warmer months, trick is to keep it cold if it gets warm the virus in the vaccine get stronger so we actually gave the pups parvo. at least thats what the vet told us after we lost two litters |
