Title: Ready to fight!
Post by: zachW on April 18, 2011, 11:45:07 am
Well I waited to cool off but I still need to vent some, so here it goes.   I had a great place to hunt, lost it because of lease hunters enjoy hunting pigs and the two times I hunted the property the pigs cOmpletrly disappeared, I'm calling bs but ok.  Then a huge ranch 6000 acres on the Bosque river plum ate up with pigs told me If I get permission on 300 acres that's land lOcked by this big ranch then I could hunt the big ranch "if my dogs started on the small ranch" so I talk the owner and he was all about it he is 90 years old and has had the PIgsS run at him.  So all I had to do was talk to the guy that leAses it for deer hunting.  I call him he lives I'n the same  tOwn of 300 i do we have met.  Well I call him and he told me he just don't think mr maker would want me there I told him mr maker all ready told me he would love for me to come hunt.  Then he told me there just ain't any pigs on the property, I told him I saw six when I was talking to mr maker.  Then he told me they don't staythere I should try the bigger ranch next door, I told him I have to have mr makers land before I can hunt the big Place.  So be said he would call and talk to mr maker.  So two days later I call mr maker and asked him what the man had said and mr maker told me that the lease guy did not want any one else hunting that he hunted and only him.  So just to see I called the man he told me mr maker did not want me there it was to great a liability!  He lied straight to my face.  So I lick my wounds and pick up the 1700 acres across the road, well the land owner of the new property across the road was excited when I called even talked about how the government should pay me for hog removal.  He told me that he had to contact the lease hunters just so they know I will be there.  They gave me the mans number so that webcould talk and cord ate because of turkey season.  He was happy said pigs were running off deer and eating all his corn.  Told me where to hunt and where he sees them,  Well three days later the woman who owns the property called me and let me know that the deer hunters were upset that the hunting rights were theirs not mine and I couldn't hunt!  So I was polite and said ohwell.  Then layter that day I ran into a man that I just got permission to hunt  his place that borders my other Places.  Well he told me to stay off that he did not want his deer hunters griping any more.  I talked to a predator hunter that day also that lease hunters were raising he'll when landowners allowed to to come kill yotes!  I understand people pay money to lease a property, but they don't own the dang thing but act like do.  They come down a handful of times a year but act like nothing can happen when their not there.  They lease for deer hunting, but think me catching pigs andpeoe killing yotes the other 9 months of the year is doing more damage then the pigs?  Pig are he'll on deer and turkey yokes too, but instead off letting me help the land owner and them they have to be jack wagons, I would like to fight these guys!  I'm so sick of people! I am I'n iredell tx having to deal with metropolitan jack wagons!  Sorry if you lease a property or live I'n the city but I'm so sick of it

the bottoms i live in are swamped in hogs! one ole man owns the whole place but has city boys that lease it to hunt. the ole man could careless for us hog doggers to run the piss out of it, but if u do u better be ready to whip a cpl city biotchs to do it. then u have them threaten to shoot ur dogs and call the G.W. on u which is fine for dale to show up, but the first dog that is shot there will be he!! to pay. so what im sayen is i know the feeling when ur being ram rodded by some jackoff that does`nt know his arse from a hole in the ground.

Maybe you could talk to the land owners about a sub-lease...
you could try to pay alittle to have rights to go after the hogs in the off seasons...

Unless the current lease agreement between the land owner and the hunters says that only they can have permission on the property year round, you should be able to work something out... especially if the landowner WANTS you in there.. Just a thought...  ;)

zach,

I lost a place in Leon county to some deer hunters this past year. It kinda pissed me off at first, then I thought about how much money they pay to hunt her land. I pay nothing, just provide a service to her. The deer hunters pay enough money, that it covers her tax bill every year.  From that standpoint, she doesn't have much choice, other than to keep her deer hunters happy, and I don't blame her.  Now, If I was willing to pay her several thousand a year to offset her tax liability, I bet she would let me hunt her hogs too. ;)

Im not going to lease a place to run my dogs...the main reason I hunt is to help people out on thier pig problems...I'm not going to spend the money to lease a place where there is a lot more places I could go hunt and help people out...if they don't me there I hope the pigs eat every baby turkey and deer that touches the ground

I can remember a time when the only deer hunters in my lil town were the locals. Then they move in like a bunch of roaches. Lost a lot of places bc of the rich city slickers. They come in and disrespect the land, trash it up, race 4 wheelers thru the fields all night long getting drunk then wonder why they don't see deer. They even disrespect the town laws and locals. I'm not sayin that all the deer hunters are this way but most the ones I've seen  and ran into are.

Landowners sometimes feel like they have to walk on egg shells with their lease hunters because they are the ones putting money in the bank.  A lot of them don't realize that there's no shortage of people looking to lease property who don't mind playing by the landowners rules.

we had that same problem with some fellas complainin that they spend their hard earned money then me and my buddies come in and scare the deer. Even had some cussin up a storm at me, till i told them my grandfather was the land owner and i wanted them off the land before nightfall.

that aside let it sit on the back burner and when the hogs overrun the fields and chase the deer, who they gon call? leave them your card ;)

Apparently they are dumb they told me they counted over 100 pigs I'n one pic off their game camera at a feeder! But I can't come run my dogs apparently those pigs are special and get along with the deer.

The whitetailed deer has been the ruination of the world in my opinion. People are so deer crazy now a days. Before people went deer crazy nobody cared if you went on there property.

I bet the deer hunting on that place sucks!!!

The biggest problem with most deer hunters is they don't realize how much the hog dogging can help their deer hunting.
I try to educate them as much as possible.

Remember to tell them that the results will be in the game camera pictures instantly if they will give you a chance.  ;)

There are a lot of places in this country where the deer hunters can move in Labor Day weekend and have to be off the weekend after deer season closes. And they pay big bucks to do that.  The rest of the years, they count for spit. Jesse Paul hunts at least one place like that. They get deer season, period.

I dont understand landowners being afraid of their deer hunters. There are folks standing in line waiting for a place to deer hunt and would do so pretty much whatever the rules were, dog hunting in the off season or whatever.

the only advice i can give you is just give em a little time and they will be begging you to come back when they see all their corn goin to the hogs and the deer are all gone then you might not have to worry about the deer hunters if there aren't any deer lol
