i dont like watching staged hog hunts kinda slaps everbody that has to work at it in the face...

Bryant, can you keep Circle C updated I know he may be at the aren abut he does have internet on his cell phone and I have not ever seen Chris without his phone!

I'm hoping they might do things a liitle different over in Hawaii with the dogs....I know they probably have to do things a certain way for it to air on tv, but from what i've seen so for it's been a little too staged...JMO...

ya you never see the mud,blood, and tears  that really comes with this line of work..u only c the t.v appropriate things.

And for most people watching ( people outside of the hog dog world ) , the t.v. appropriate things are still too much.... the mud, blood, and tears would just make it worse if they showed it on national t.v. IMO.... i enjoy laughing at it, but I know this crap is not doing us any good....  :-\

The one I like is the guys from Florida that lead their dog right up to the hog and it doesn't even run. According to them it is so vicious that they are taking their life in their own hands. It would look more realistic if they took the feed bucket out of the picture.

i got all my dogs headlamps and a atv man that l3outdoor dog has showed me the way if i do all the work he will run thim off the ranch thats what were doing right keeping the kid eating monsters ran off

They earn all their respect by catching life threatening 300-400lber's. Has anyone ever lost their life while hunting with a dog(s)?

Well their not doing hog doggers justice. L3 outdoors is hunting storm ranch to remove hogs. But storm ranch does hog hunts for money. I thought they would show people that really need help not people that make money off of the hogs already.

They went from the hill country to southeast. I'm pretty sure I recognize the pen the Texas group is in....think a lot of us have worked dogs in there. If u listen close...you can hear the kennels.

I'm from Texas and I can't believe these guys are from Texas. Who pays for these clowns to remove these "man killers" when they could get someone to do it for free. And I have never seen gun shots scare hogs off for more than a few minutes.

This is just crazy and corny. I have hunted the Strom ranch with my dogs many times. Man what a ranch. Its hard on the dogs when its dry but damn they have some rank boars on this place. Josh the owner is all BS on this show. Funny when you know a guy and see the diffence from TV to normal. I talked with him the other day when I looked at a preview of the show already making fun of him... All these pigs below were caught on the Strom Ranch in a couple of days of hunting. I guess to each his own...

After watching L3's dogs work I feel alot better about the mut's I'm working with, hell I might be ready to go!

What really cracks me up is how they talk about how scared they are of the wild pigs and I s*** you not they have a pet wild pig that hangs around the house...Big ol Barr...They hand feed him all the time. Been there for years. hahaha

 Im all for hunting hogs any which way a person wants to! Thats why I love hog hunting, not really any rules to it, except be careful not to get cut. I mean, a caught hog is a caught hog, right?

The show seems better produced not so corny, and I still got to say those boys I'n Hawaii juevos grande.  And they finally admit the Florida guys are new and rookies.  I dvr the show and the pig rooting on the grave is a digger hole.  100% Texan dillo.  And my girl friend noticed that the Florida guys finally got leads.

We have been hunting for a while now and I have a deeper appreciation for my husband. I had no idea that he "risked his life" everytime he weny hunting all because of his love for the outdoors.  I did tell him that if he gets me Big Gold Earrings, Big Ring and a Foot long knife and pink sheath I will go hunting with him too, but the first time he told me "good girl" then his dog "good boy" I would be done.  LOL  Cracks me up.  My kids just could not get over the hogs running in the back ground in Texas and the dogs not finding them.  Guess we all need to make sure we have "different noses" when we go hunting and that we "always keep the dogs nose downwind".  LOL  What a joke.  I invited TX to come hunt our terrain, but they politely declined.  Guess it's those sucky brush piles we have. 

he said something about it being a stressful job. that is why you texans are all always on edge. hog hunting is stressful, and you thought you were going to help relieve stress.

Don't knock starched shirts and pants till you try it once. Tell you what my wife always thought I was going to the bar,lol. It allows the brush to slide off and doesn't snag so easily in the white brush here in south texas. Although my shirt usually come back dirty.

Looks like those guys in Florida and Hawaii could use a good blade or a .44 mag and just split their wig.  They could of caught alot more instead of walking out with just 2-3.  But I forgot that a gunshot will spook the hogs out of the country. Isnt that the point.  Where are the cur dogs at????  I wish I had places like that to hunt, where I could just drive around till I spotted some hogs and then dumped some bulldogs on them.  Hell if I can see the hog, I dont need the dog, I would just shoot the nasty SOB.

This is for those of you that know Josh,is this guy for real in the way he hunts the dogs he uses?This guy and his wife are embarrassing.Also the comment about his job being stressful was a slap in my face,try working as a corrections officer in a Texas Maximum Security prison if you want some real stress!!!!!I will say that the show is fun to watch because its great entertainment picking it apart,especially Josh but he put the target on his own back.

I am going to get me some starched shirts with logos on them if I can get to hunt places like they do. It sure made me feel better about my dogs after watching last night.

BULLMASTER--A buddy of mine recently retired from being a corrections officer. He was telling me about this guy that did not get up when it was shower time. So he gets to take a shower the next time they are available. He said that this guy cussed him and called him everything in the book. I asked if he wrote him up and he said "write him up--he is doing 3 life sentences". Then I asked what for and he told me that the last person he killed was his mother. He cuts her up with a chain saw and rides around for a while with her pieces in the trunk. Then he sticks her head on a T post. I don't think that guy would have any problem killing you or any other person.

Its real!!!  i can see i have seen it first hand. Its not exactly how its being shown, but its real.   :laugh:

I did like how the Texas crew had there samurai setup. It looked like the dog boxes were mounted in the back. It would also be very cool to have a cam mounted on a dogs vest so you could see exactly what was going on. The cam wouldn't last long on real hog dog on some real hogs though.

I know alot of editing goes on and the way its shown isnt always like it really is, but dont you think they would have edited alittle bit of it to make it seem like his dogs were actually GOOD at what they are SUPPOSE to do?  ???

I mean if i was Josh, i would have asked them to atleast edit parts of it to make it look like the dogs hunt out more than 15 yards..  :-\

I missed the first few minutes... but was Riddick in this show? Or did they not use him because it was day time and couldnt use a spot light?

im not gonna say there good or bad at what they do, im just saying yes its real.  to each his own.  he has some dang good country and he is hunting and getting paid to hunt it.  I have good country but i dang sure ain't getting paid for it.  i don't agree or disagree with his style. If it works for him then so be it, and if it doesn't work then that is his problem not mine.    

I havent been doing this but for a few years so can you older guys help me out rolleyes??? Is that what one would consider "short-range" dogs?LOL

I have heard this style called "poodle - ranged" , "pet - ranged" , "cull - ranged" , "no - ranged" , and "L3 - ranged"

But im sure theres other names for it...

I guess ole Riddick was too rough so he didnt take him on this hunt,I sure would have because Riddick was a much better dog than what he had on the show last night.

i really liked that samurai it was setup pretty nice......if only they had dogs as good as their rig

Too bad "they"(those that cast) don't ask TRUE Florida hunters who THEY would want to watch.... there's some FINE dog men in Florida that I'd be PROUD to show off to the rest of the world.

I thought it was hilarious when they were putting pad coat on their dogs feet before the hunt.
I've never seen a dog run their pads off on 10 yard loops :D

I think Id even be willing to let L3 come to one of my places to hunt and hunt behind my team of dogs to represent the sport the way it should be.
I would not want anything but the satisfaction of them represnting the sport the way we know it and live it.
Leave all the BS at home and come hunt the sport in a real world setting.

I told some folks that asked me about the show that you could go to the pound and get some dogs that would be as good as they ones they have. You could dang sure get a pit that would catch hogs that were right in front of you.

He has hunted one of my places before he was a movie star ;D  Riddick doesnt have a noise. He wanted to wait until dark and drive around with a spotlight. wedont hunt that way. He over heated right off the bat and ended the weekend. Was told he would jump fences after hogs ( that was a lie) told he could go through the thickest brush better than my cats (that was for sure a lie) and that he had the best noise out there (that was a Lie). But if thats what he want to hunt with let him.....I had to listen to how awsome his dogs were and how much better the one out style is the whole weekend.... Did FINALLY get the two vest I was promised for letting him hunt our place.     

Somebody that constantly brags on their dogs have usually lied to themselves so much that they started believing it.  Open the tailgate and let the dogs speak for themselves.

I try to never brag much on my dogs, they will make a liar out of you EVERYTIME!!!
Plus, ive noticed my dogs seem to hunt better if i talk crap about them!!!

Told my buddy one day that the 2 young dogs I brought on the hunt would get gone when hunted together... they stayed about as close as L3s dogs...  rolleyes

Next hunt told him that if one of my gyps didnt start getting out there with the other dogs i was gonna get rid of her sorry butt... she found 3 hogs that night....  That seems to be the way it always goes, so from now on if anybody asks, my dogs aint worth sh!t !!  ;)


But, i will make the exception to say that my dogs hunt better than what they showed of L3s ....  ;D

All you have to do is lie. Tell the landowners for a fee you will remove one hog off there place. Tell them hogs are dangerous and will attach their children. Seems to work for L3 ;D ;D ;D

My 12 yr old was watching the show and got up and walked out of the room and said Dad I can't watch these clowns any longer.

the L3 crew almost make me want to not say i am a texas hog hunter, but then i think i am a texas hog hunter not a T.V. star, and as a side note if a bunch of hogs or one little pig ran across the road in front mine or any of my hunting partners dogs they would at the very least go after them or even just look in there direction, and all three of my daughters hunt with me and they never were make up or lets go dancing clothes,for all you folks tat arent from texas dont judge us by them as i am sure yall dont

I aint watched it and don't care to, but my boss has a few guys from NYC coming down here next month because they got all jazzed up watching it.

They are hobbyists, recreational hunters, they are coming here on business, but have been watching HGW and want to take out a mankiller. ;)

I had my DVR set to record the new episodes.  After this last show, I'm done, won't watch another one.  I have to agree with all of the comments so far.  
I about lost it when he started whinning about how stressful if was.  The heat, the snakes, the monster hogs trying to kill him!   Ask my wife, I go hog hunting to relieve my stress from my day job!    ;D  I come home more relaxed than ever after a good day of catching pigs!  
And don't get me started on their comments.  "THESE HOGS ARE CUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
What about, "today the pigs just out ran the dogs"    WHAT?  The dogs didn't even chase the pigs!!!  
How about all of those hungry families chowin' down on that stinky a#* boar!  UMMMM UMMMMMM   TASTE SO GOOD!   >:D

Oh ok lol e few weeks ago i ran into some NYC guys that were here for business but stopped to go hunting with some business partners. didnt know if it was them or not.

We watched it this morning, its hokey to say the least and it is awfully disappointing to see any of them hunt.

The Hawaiian guys had my attention last year but completely blew it this year.  The whit pig looked dazed like some one was shoving him out of that cave and I want to see them come put one of these hogs down here in a snare....I wanted to beat them with their pinning sticks.

L3 is over dramatic, they blow everything out of proportion.  Did anyone else hear the KENNEL of dogs barking when they were after the hogs in the brush pile? I absolutely cant stand how they are pretending they are removing these child eating monsters off these ranches when infact they are game ranches....call it like it is.  i was amazed by the well placed shot to the rump of that boar hog, who looked like he was in a hog wire lane going to a set of cow pens.  The rooting in the grave yard looked like a wash out under a root ball. Also, they are supposed to be one outers, why did they turn all their dogs to the one hog they missed and I thought Danes/Wolfhounds were sight dogs, so why are they talking about their smelling ability?....maybe I am just missing something.  

The poor Florida rookies, I want to mail them a set of hobbles and a knife.  I would gut kick any of our dogs that went to screaming like that if they seen or smelledva hog...that is one of my biggest pet peeves.  Atleast where they were hunting this time was more realistic but they need a lesson in flipping a hog....I foresee one of them getting hurt before its over with.

There was a lot of things that got me on that show but one that really made me think was how in the world do those guys trap hogs in a four foot regular hog wire fence!!!!

I trap a few hogs just to have something to do and let me tell you I have trouble keeping them inside a six foot fence and really cant I have to add another panel all the way around the trap just so they cannot jump are climb out . I have seen 250 lb hogs jump a six foot panel also I have seen some boar that will just wreck cattle panels so how in the hell  can they even come close to trapping hogs inside just a plain hog wire fence ??????????????????   They may be tuff but they need to come go with me when I get one of them 275 lbs pissed off boar in a round trap and he wont go threw the loading gate now that is when the fun starts !  Just cant see a regular hog wire fence holding a bad hog no way man !

All you have to do IS NOT WATCH IT, IF People don't watch then they will quit airing it.
BAD publicity is still publicity, and still sends the ratings up which sells commercials and sponsors, So if you really don't like it don't watch.

yep sure made my turd eaters look better, ha. i dont have cable but a buddy recorded it to let me watch, i dont know which ones i watched but them guys with the forked stick need to be hunting snakes or something. and the florida and texas bunch, man if my dogs are looking at hogs while their on a lead and not barking something is wrong, not saying mine are great but they will bark if a hog is standing there, this show is one of the reasons i never saw fit to have cable, makes me mad enough just watching the news and weather, i been mad all afternoon after watching those clowns with their brand new vests, plus the vest didnt help that spotted pony they turned loose and caught that hog with that got the bad cut, i've seen dogs get cut worse then that getting out of the box

Not all the time on every place but I do get paid to hunt hogs....you trap and run dogs or whatever it takes to cut the numbers now, I do work for my county and large land holders. THe way I make money from it is sell off the hogs live or dead for meat or for training..If L3 is making a killing off those folks then they are giving all hog hunters a bad name but we do provide a service. If a place is a good drive I might charge mileage and head fee but nothing outstanding just to cover my cost.

i makes me mad to watch that show they allways catch big hogs and kill em cause they r to big but its pretty funny cause they cant handle a big hog

L3 and them florida boys need real dogs...  and that riddick dog is a cull for sure...cant catch a pig that was just there..u got problems.. even if it didnt catch it should have been a chase at least.. and if my catch dog backs up and starts baying thats a cull. he might not make it back home with me. and if they are gettin paid for it.. them landowners are gettin ripid off... just my opinion...

Lol. thats the most stupidest show ever, they at least need to let some people with better dogs get on there and catch some pigs. Its embarissoning to us hunters, the L3 people need some real dogs. We need to get the HDL girls at least on there.
