The chargers are different, easier to clean, and i think the gps sensor deal is built in to the main body

Charger is way better, I get better range out of my 40's, I had some problems with losing the collars at 1st but I just changed the communication setting and have not had a problem since, I run Garmin and Marshall systems on my dogs and with the 40 collars you can put both recievers on 1 collar.

This is what i've heard as well. Im not going to run out and replace my 30's with 40's but we may buy 40's as we need new collars. I also heard that they range out better.

i have both 30s and 40s... they all seem to be different... some 40s getter better range than the 30s and some dont... like everyone says, charging is much easier and the battery life seems to be quite a bit better....

I would not sell your 30s to switch to 40s.... but they are fixing to stop selling 30s, so if you need more collars you will probably end up with 40s anyways...  ;)

I've heard the are about to stop selling 30's too, but the Guy I get mine from says he hasn't heard that, I'm gonna keep buying 40's cause I like em better, just my opinion.

I just got an astro 220 with dc 40 collars.  Mine get to .8 miles and lose communication.  Should I be getting more range than this?  If so, what communication setting do I change to?

Depends on the terrain coady,...but I will tell you this, you might as well get a long range antenna now and be done with it if you don't have one already. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS that came with your unit....that will tell you how to change all settings,.....get the collars out and use them around home to learn how.....it's not hard at all.....good luck....I love my DC 40s.
