Has anyone hunted one of these dogs? What do they range, and how gritty are they? How big do they get?

They make good bird dogs. The ones I have been around made good guard dogs too. I would bet they would be gritty. But never saw one on a hog. Only next to a hog named Harley Davidson. ;D But I have seen better bird dogs. It just comes down to the dog. The ones I saw were about 60-70 pounds. I bet they would be good at hogs if they knew that was their job. The ones I was around were good at whatever job they had an had real good noses. Just make sure you like the personality.

I have heard my dad talk about them when he was young they were some hard hunting gritty on everything dogs.  Didn't run hogs but they were hard dogs but finding some out of hunting lines good luck now days

I know every town hae a weimaraner rescue it seems. The people that have owned them as pets describe a crazy , psychotic dog,,, very high strung, i wonder if the problem is they dont have a job to do and are bored stiff sittin in a back yard?

sounds like the hog hunting community needs to give this breed a new job in life to me! i know cole newsom had one cross with a pit that was a jam up extra gritty dog. RIP brownie

my dad has one and yes they are pretty gritty and fast as all hell im thinking about crossing it with one of my bulldogs then goin back to a cur and see what comes out but yes they make pretty good dogs from this experanice with ole jug

I hav one he is 11 years old and still runnin around. We just started hogdogin bout 2 years ago and never really gave him a chance. Huge mistake lol he is hog crazy ive put him in a been with a few good sized hogs and he is straight catch.

I use to own a crossed dog that was half weim/bmc He was a a very strike dog and still is for my friend. Its his best dog. He is a large dog about 75 pounds. His brother is open mouth.  He is semi-open.
