I use it mixed with valbazen cattle wormer...

You can also search valbazen in the search engine and see what and how much everyone else is using...  ;)

Some people do it differently with different dosages... you just have to figure out what YOU think will be best...

I would  be sure your dog doesn't have heart worms before you give him the Ivomectin.

There are always exceptions to the rule...but...giving a dog ivomec that has heartworms will not kill him.

i give mine 1cc first of month, some guys give 1/2 cc.   use the ivermic injectable,  just squirt it in the back of there mouth, i like to draw up couple cc of water with it.

i use 1/10 of a cc per pound and in the same way craig said to use but if you just bought the dog or not sure if it has heart worms or not i would only give a quarter of the dose cause the full dose might kill em. oh and make sure u get ivomec NOT ivomec plus.

horse tubes, one notch for every 50#, so if your dog weighs 1-50# one notch, and if it weighs 51-100# it would be two notches, 101-150# 3 notches and if it weighs more than that get that dog on a treadmill. I usually hollow out a hotdog and fill it with the zimectrin and I prefer to use the zimectrin gold as it is an effective all around wormer.

Zaneo, did you mean 1/10 cc per 10 lbs (not every 1 lbs)?  My vet actually advised me to use 1/10 cc per every 11 lbs. I try to give extra. I go off of this formula; 50 lb dog .60-.75 cc. A 100 lb dog Id give about 1.2 cc

Thanks guys, I bought the horse tube but was afraid to give them each one notch thinking I may overdose them. So, I did like donnieboy1 said and put a little on my fingertip and gave it to them like that but I only gave them very little and really don't think I gave them enough. Would you think it'd be safe to give them one notch today?

When did you give it to them if its been a few days I would give them a little more.

As someone said above, my vet recommended 1/10 cc per 11 pounds. But don't depend on Ivermectin to kill hookworms. Use Safeguard (panacur), strongid T, valbazen, or other wormer to get hookworms, especially in pups up to a year of age.

I only give 1/10th of a cc per dog of the 1% ivomec, been doing it for years, from what I've read that is more than enough.

It is my understanding that the dose required to kill heartworm microfilaria in the blood is much lower than the dose for other types of worms.

use the search engine many of thesame questions have been asked and answered 10 times with hundred different responses, you might just find some info you have not heard before from somebody that has been doing it a few years, or 20+ that might be helpful info.
