Title: HELP!!! Flea infestation Post by: nate on May 01, 2011, 10:55:41 am This is the worse I have seen it around my house in 10 years. I have fleas all over the place. I have sprayed some stuff called I G Regulator( I think is what it is called), another liquid called Tempco SC Ultra, and just got done with a bottle of Liquid Seven. I have 3 grown dogs, 2 pups at 5months and 8 pit pups at 3 weeks old.
The inside is about 95% flea free. The outside is getting there but all the dogs are covered. I am spraying all the dogs with Adams with the exception of the pups. I tried a white vineger/ water solution on them based off internet info that made the fleas jump ship but didn't seem to hurt them. They came right back. I sprayed the pit pups last night with Adams for the 1st time and killed alot of fleas but this morning they are back on the pups thick. Will the Adams hurt the pups? Is there anything I can use on the pups that won't hurt them? Title: Re: HELP!!! Flea infestation Post by: djhogdogger on May 01, 2011, 11:10:24 am They are horrible here too. Ive use Adams on puppies that were just a few weeks old and it didn't hurt them.
FYI: I went to the vet and bought some comfortis pills but the didn't have the ones for the large dogs so I bought advanticks for the large dogs and everything else got the comfortis. Well, the big dogs still have fleas, everything that got the comfortis is clean...NO FLEAS. Looks like i wasted my money on the advanticks so I will be going back to the vet to get some more comfortis :( Title: Re: HELP!!! Title: Re: HELP!!! Flea infestation Post by: uglydog on May 01, 2011, 11:41:48 am Adams is safe for pups because it is alcohol based and onces its dry and evaporated all the killing properties are gone, and thats also why its safe for pups because it has no residual effect.
COMFORTIS is GReat, but you still need to kill all the un hatched fleas and break the cycle this year is going to be be straight up war Title: Re: HELP!!! Flea infestation Post by: nate on May 01, 2011, 01:22:52 pm Thanks so much for the info. I have spent well over $100.00 on chemicals for the yard and the house in the past 2 weeks. Before we started spraying, it was nothing to walk thru the house in socks and find a countless number of fleas on our feet. I would highly reccommend the Tempco but it will not kill the eggs so it needs to be sprayed 1-2 times a week for a couple of weeks.
They claim the I G regulator will kill eggs but after two bottles we noticed very little change. The Tempco is $50.00 a bottle but will make about 300 gallons of mix. You should move your dogs around as you spray their areas. I love Adams and I am getting a new bottle tomorrow as I am about out of it now. I just got done bathing all the dogs in Skip flea and tick shampoo and that seemed to kill the fleas on contact. They reccomend treating about once a week. Thanks so much again for the info. Title: Re: HELP!!! Flea infestation Post by: dub on May 01, 2011, 01:44:30 pm I had em horrible. Got a bottle of Termidor. Mixed 15 gallons of water worth in a tub. Dipped every dog and my legs ;D Then used a pump to spray the yard. Finally got rid of them and still have poison left. I mixed up a spray bottle to spray them after every hunt. If they show up again I will dip and spray again. Thanks to environmentalists all the poison you buy breaks down fast after using it so the bugs come back. So you have to keep treating.
