Title: Dogs not doing the job Post by: gtown dogger on May 05, 2011, 10:07:56 pm It seems that here recently my dogs can't find a hog trail for nothing idk if it's this real dry weather or there just ain't a hog in sight anyone else having that problem
Title: Re: Dogs not doing the job Post by: arrowbar on May 05, 2011, 10:10:40 pm if its more than one dog, I would not think too much of it. Also make sure your dogs are hydrated, I have lost the scent of game before because the dogs got to dehydrated... I hydrated them and got back on "track"

If it's been really dry it effects it for sure but woulnd't keep the dogs from not finding them at all just takes a little longer. I would keep after it but check your sign first to see if there around. I have several places that they have moved off for now but they will be back in a month or so. Try giving thoses places a break if you can. Good luck.
Title: Re: Dogs not doing the job Post by: GOTBOAR on May 06, 2011, 12:48:58 pm Same sort of thing happens here at this time every year. Between all the chemicals being sprayed and the dry weather its hard hunting here. I usually go fishin till its harvest time.
