Title: Horrible accident Post by: BIG BEN on May 15, 2011, 06:49:46 pm Met up with JimBob and Wendy owens this morning and had a horrible day. Dogs left out like they usually do kick'n rocks at us as they were leaving and got out of tracking range in a hurry. We got loaded and went to tracking em down, long story short they made a huge circle and ended up on the rail road tracks. We track Sara(The older female) to the other side of the tracks and call her in. She got hit by the train, Her back leg is broke and has a pretty good hole where the bone popped through. We get her magnet in and start tracking Bear and the other pups. We find Clue and Cat(Cowboy X Sara pups) about 400 yards down the tracks dead and no signal on Wendys Lisa pup. We track Bear where we first dropped em and his front leg is hurt, we got him loaded and tried to get a signal on Lisa with no luck. Kelly and Wendy has spent the whole day trying to get a signal on Lisa but have had no luck. This is a horrible tragidie for some of the best performing pups I have ever seen in My life, these pups started like no other I have ever seen. RIP Clue and Cat, Praying that Lisa is alive somewhere. This is a major set back for the Bigo/Skoalbandit breeding program, Now there are no pups old enough to hunt or even start for awhile.

Title: Re: Horrible accident Post by: Reuben on May 15, 2011, 06:57:47 pm Big Ben
I am so sorry for your loss... It has to be real hard when the best dogs get killed or severely injured. I hope your pups will grow up and fill their shoes. I had a jam up mtn cur pup that tried to out run a train and got run over as well. The tracker quit working because it was demolished. Title: Re: Horrible accident Post by: Cutter Bay Kennels on May 16, 2011, 05:33:16 am Hindsight is 20/20. I've turned down some unbelievable dog hunting over the years because trains came through the property. Canines don't differentiate depth well if objects appear to be standing still. Trains comming straight on, never seem to move to them until it too late. Many a dog has left this world on a train having never even thought of buying a ticket. I sure hate to hear about these situations. Guard that female with everything you have.

I'm glad that Lisa pup was found. Title: Re: Horrible accident Post by: BarrNinja on May 16, 2011, 07:04:00 am Give us a report on Bear and Sarah when you can.
