Title: need help about dog wormer
Post by: jalston on June 20, 2011, 08:59:31 am
i am considering using ivermectin liquid for my dogs. i've heard put it in their water,i really don't want to do that, i change my water every other day and add to daily. i also have heard of giving  1/2 cc ivermec with 1/2 cc water by mouth on food every month, this would be best for me, don't want to do anything till i know for sure.   thanks, Jim

1/10 cc per 10 lbs so on a 50 lb dog yes 1/2 a cc. I mix it in with gatorade or something like it and give it to them out of a syringe once monthly, that way I know they get it all.

Use the oral solution ivermectin not the injectable. Have had several vets tell me they have found heart worms in a few dogs treated with the injectable. The oral can be obtain through vet. 1/2 cc per 50 lbs, I put mine in the food. The oral not very expensive either.

Ive always used the injectable, .1 ccs per 10lbs.  orally.  thats how ive always done it and how the vet recommended it.
