Dinah,

After seeing everyone's movie list, I made my mind up that I wanted to watch it. When you posted this, I went on my DVR menu, and selected to record it. 4 hours worth. This weekend my wife and daughter went to the beach. I sat down tonight to watch it. I wrote down some good quotes to refer to later. One big problem though, the 4 hours only got me to the part where he has just saved her, and is under the old building in the rain telling her to just cry.

How long is the whole movie?  Loved the part with the aragant barkeep.   ;D

President of our company told me last week, he owns the full DVD set.  I guess I'm calling in a favor.  ;)

You wont regret it. It is a great movie. I watched THE YEARLING today. I forgot about the good bear bay scene and the cull dog that he trades for a gun. Kinda reminded me of what people still do today. LOL  :D That ol bulldog was giving that bear heck though.  ;D

Okay Cutter, The Yealing is a great classic that is set in Florida. I can't believe you haven't seen this one! They just don't make movies like this any more. Lol, Im suprized that PETA hasn't had this movie banned.  ;D Its a movie for the whole family to enjoy and dog hunters especiallly like it. I find myself hollaring to get ahead at my tv when im watching it.  :D
I find these types of movies all the time on the Turner Classic Channel. Its one of my favorite channels.

I just got done watching the whole thing.  It was a very long movie, but a good one. Don't know that it trumps Gladiator though. Just saying.  ;)

I've watched it more times than can remember, and every time i think of my grt. grndfather who i never got to meet but heard stories about how he came to Tx. as a teenager from La. in the late 1860's to Bastrop Co. and worked on several cattle drives as a young man into the 1870's driving cattle from Tx. to Abilene Ks.   His name was Alcide DeGlandon.  We still have family reunions in McDade,Tx. to this day.
