Title: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: BobbyB on June 26, 2011, 03:23:45 pm I have seen the Reverse BMCs, even tho to me they are Saddle Backs since the yellow usually runs down the legs and under the belly and not a black dog with yellow mask and ears. ( To me that would be a bad azz looking dog ).
I have seen some Brindle BMCs, but I have never seen a brindle with a black mask. Has anyone ever seen one? Or had one? Or have one now and could post a pic or 2? The few I have seen have been brindle from the tip of their tail to their nose. Title: Re: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: treeingratterrier on June 26, 2011, 10:53:45 pm Wow, what blast from the past, we used to get those brindle dogs in with cows we bought from east texas, it used to be pretty common to get a brindle in a yellow litter along with reds as well, crazy now the pup factorys claim they are not blackmouth curs since they are brindlelol Great pictures reminds me of dogs they used to have lots of down here for cow work before we got hogs in this country enuff to hunt, aka 1968 or so for my ranch and county.

Title: Re: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: waylon-N.E. OK on June 27, 2011, 10:27:13 pm Real nice brindle dogs. I posted this same thing about a month or so ago. I have seen several brindle BMC dogs but most I found out had either plott or mountain cur in them if I went far enough back on there breeding. I know there are some full blood brindle BMC dogs but they don't crop out every day. I have seen some fine looking dogs posted on here today, thanks for sharing.

Title: Re: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: waylon-N.E. OK on June 28, 2011, 01:56:30 pm I wasn't trying to say that all brindle BMc dogs had plott in them, just that the ones i researched far enough back had plott or mountain cur, THE ONES I RESEARCHED, i also said some full blood BMC dogs do trow brindle that is just rare. sorry for the confusion. I like'em all even the ones with plott blood

Post by: treeingratterrier on June 28, 2011, 04:51:01 pm i have a litter of all blackmouth brindles right now. the mom is brindle out of a old line of cow dogs from bo nutting bred back to another one of his yellow dogs and all came brindle. i have a daughter out of her which is brindle to and bred her to another one of his yellow dogs and they came half yellow and half brindle. he told me didnt mater what you breed her to they will come brindle but you can take those pups and breed back to yellow and you will get both colors and he was right Kewlest litter I ever rasied was a cross from a RED blackmouth cur and a brindle yellow black mouth cur from east teckus, some of them came red brindle, some yellow, all had black masks. Lots of people tried to tell me they were Mountain s curs but they were not and I knew the difference. I am still stunned to see so many brinldes still going strong, great posts and pictures all. The litter i got all had full tails and were silent traillers. Title: Re: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: noelle on June 28, 2011, 04:51:19 pm just sayin i got some lines that throw 90% brindle...out of a yellow dog lol... and i do like them curs with some plott in em too i think its a good cross long as not too much plott...no offense meant... color dont hunt anyway ;D
Title: Re: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: treeingratterrier on June 28, 2011, 05:11:36 pm One thing I used to come back with when peeps would razz me about the Plott blackmouths supposed influnce is that i said hell boyzz, you got it back awrse backwards, plotts got brindle backmouth in them not the other way around!!!!lol Now i am pretty sure its just a color gene in the in the yellow color inhertiance scheme.
Title: Re: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: BobbyB on June 28, 2011, 05:59:44 pm Great looking dogs here. I like 'em.
I havent been to a baying in a year and a half, but the last couple of times I went to McCoy and Pearsall, there was a young fellow that had a little Brindle gyp and they were winning all the money. I heard him turn down some seriously major bucks for her in Pearsall one night. A buddy of his told me she was pretty abused when he got her and it took a lot of lovin and carin to bring her out and that she was as good in the woods as she was in the pen. I saw her get hooked and thrown one night and in mid air she had never taken her eyes off that hog and as soon as her feet hit the ground, she was back in his face in full chop. It was awesome. I know color dont hunt, but Like I said before if I have to feed em and look at em, I might as well feed and look at something I like. I may have to look for a Brindle. Title: Re: Brindle Blackmouths ??? Post by: Easttex on June 28, 2011, 06:06:38 pm Well, I should have a litter on the ground in August. If all goes well, I'll post some pics and you can see if any of those will do. That is, if you want one that young or not.
