Is anybody getting any hunting done in OKlahoma? We about lost a couple dogs the other night, so we are done till this terrible weather breaks!!

Very little in this heat. We went this weekend. Pretty easy to find the hogs. They are going to be pretty close to water.

been going every weekend twice a weekend. gotta just get there at the right place at the right time. Gotta find water/food source all in the same area. So dry it's hard for dogs to run track. Been trashing like crazy but I"m keepin' them in the woods.

J carroll ain't been going much at all to hot had a good hunting buddy loose one to the heat last week im gonna hold out tell it cools down a little.  Where you out of that name sounds familiar? Could just be in my head lol im here by wetumka.

none of my buddies been huntin, way to hot. cant wait till the heat breaks cause ive never been doggin yet!!

Went once each of the last two weekends. Caught one each time. Haven't been out for two months before that. Just go slow and take a lot of breaks. We may not go again til September or we may go this weekend. I didn't miss a weekend last summer and this one I e Only seen two weekends. Its been bad that's for sure

I'm from Lindsay. I think I will wait till September too. I just started hog doggin this summer so I'm not getting off to a good start. Looked long and hard to find this BMC hood dog and definately don't want to lose her.

and coyote hunter im in the same boat buddy didn't miss a weekend the last several yrs but haven't been much this summer to stinking hot.

gone a few times but its to dang hot to run :'( :'( pits in cut vest unless u have watter to poor over them.

jus moved in to stillwater monday..college student.......got some experience from ole shankem....still lookin for somebody to hunt with i sure would'nt mind taggin along sometime

Im movin up there saturday. Im not gonna have my dogs with me up there, but i will be coming home to hunt on the weekends and your welcome to tag along.

Im not bragging guys but i have some decent dogs and good spots to hunt  come on down if ur interested pm me a number and we will set up a time  i cant promise a caught hog or anything but i can promise a good time with a good people  kids welcone  no guns  ill bring one

It's always tuff up here in the Osage, people are real clicked up so the country is hard to get into where there are actually hogs, the hogs move ALL THE TIME, if there spotted monday and you can't get there until wed. there long gone, the dogs really have to hunt hard to do any good and there are not tons of hogs anyway so that is hard as well. We road our dogs sometimes for 4-5 hours before we even see an old hog track and if we find rooting we are super excited. Now we have to contend with ton's of wanna be hog hunters from other areas freely dumping dogs on places where they don't have permission and that's making the land owners angry at every other hog hunter around here. We have found some sign near water holes and are hoping to do some good soon, but i't don't look real good for the near future  :'(

goin to run red river tomorrow night.. with as hot as its been they should be all over them banks

i dropped my dogs for th first time in bout 6 mnths but there were allota natural springs ponds an lakes all right there to gether so there were allota places for th dogs to cool down if anyone wants to i aint got any super star dogs jus few youngns that kno what a pig is but im in coweta ok u can come up an hunt with me thinkin bout goin down to hanna this weeken pm me

Good luck at hanna the river is dry all creeks are dry to. Not being rude but who do you hunt with at hanna my hunting buddy has most of the hunting down there, thay ain't but about a handful that can hunt by hanna.

Hey guys huntibg is good down here  we have water  not much but there is some and food sources arent great but we dobt have much trouble finding pigs   of course as soon as i say this i wont be able to find a pig to save my life but its good here lately

I went sat , it was 67 at 6 am ,we had 4 hogs by 7am and got the 5th on the way back to the truck , it was the first time out in a couple of months , the dogs made me proud ,  we had a pupfind &  bay two hogs on her own for the first time ,I knew there was a reason I feed these pot lickers all summer

Bob your dogs don't count  ;D I really think your gonna need to send me a few to help you curve the feed bill.

Bob I'd be ashamed to show you my dogs knowing what caliber of dogs you hunt with  :( I'm a rookie compared to you and Craig, and these heel hounds I got are about the same class as i am. We get lucky some times, but only cause God feels sorry for us  :angel:

i hunt with ty davis and i have 1100 acres split up that i hunt an im th only peron tht hunts it other than that i hunt on my buddys land an there are ponds that have water on em if we catch pigs we catch pigs if not o well its still better than sittin at home ive gotts to go dwn n e way y not hunt ??

I work with a fella from oklahoma an he says y'all got some damn fine huntin up that way what kinda terrian is it?

man theres a lil bit of ev thing i mainly hunt in tha hills or river bottoms

We have the rougher part of the state in my opinion. From sixty foot canyons, cedar trees, black berry thickets, brior patches, don't get me wrong their are some open land but anyone who honestly hunts knows ya more than likely gonna gonna end up right smack dab in the middle of what I listed above. To top that off about every place we hunt is a two and sometimes more mile section without a road through it. Everybody that I hunt around is pretty good at hittin the map button zoomin out and finding the closest road to the dogs.

Its real rough up around locust grove too not many cedar  jus big a$$ hills Rock bluffs an all that fun stuff damn sure where ya butt out bu there is somebig daddies n there th whole n e part of th state is like that briars thickets we hunt outside of finly it get rough out they too

The terrain I hunt in varies from what Caddo co. Hog dog described in the sountern part of the county to farm land on the N.W. corner of the county to the Tall grass prarie to the N.E. that borders Kansas. The toughest part is hogs up here in Osage County don't stay in one place long and for every sounder of hogs there are 2 truck loads of hog hunters after them, once you run them on a spot there not gonna be there next week and you spend way more time looking for hog sign than you do running/baying them. But I believe in a nother 10 years there gonna be thick enough to find anywhere in this county if I can just hold out long enough it will be " Damn fine huntin "

Pretty much flat wide open plains here   creeks get thick with brush and thorn bushes but it aint like what yall describe  everyone thats hunted with me loves my land   and theres a road pretty much every mile squared  our two mile sections r usually only a mile wide  honestly this is pretty nice hunting here  and i have pigs less than a quarter mile from my house sometimes  not too much to complain about here  the furthest i drive from my house is ten miles and i usually hunt my way there and back ;)

Yeah I talked to my buddy he said he no,s you and you no him my hunting buddy is colby Agasten ( catch an tie 2 ) he said we have to hunt all around y'all lol so tell you what y'all run them off y'all place and will run um back  ;D I think this may work, good luck to y'all im going tonight will see how it go,s its my honey hole should do good,colby said he has your number call us and will go hunt sometime sounds like we all have good spots   ;)

And miller we have e z spots and rough spots, but I have hunted alot in east texas and y'all have got bad crap lol but the rock hillsides up here are tough.

Yea Colby  is from dwn around Eufalla area not sure where exact think more out towards hanna

Bayem ill call you sometime and will go I was gonna go tonight but I backed out the temperature is 94 right now to hot for me lol. And about the people that hunt at hanna most don't have permission trust me them hanna bread guys don't play around if you don't live there, if im hunting with colby down there I always put one of his collars on if not I wont see that dog again, the last time we lost a dog there we had one of my collars on and one of his thay left his collar like new and cut mine up lol put my dog on one of his chains never got a call one lol, and I don't no anyone down there, have never trespassed on anybody there, most of the people there will tell you if thay catch your dog on um there gone.

ive never had a problem with anyone out there i lost a bluetick gyp once at day break she left out on a hog an th trackin collar quit an when we was leavin hanna that evenin she was still gone we pulledout on hwy 9 an gotta phone call some ppl had her at there house she wondered up an had her waitin on us when i pulled in they told me i could dog all there land but i lost th guys name an nmber lol an my buddy ty dwn there knows ev one so its cool

Not saying there not good folks there, just saying when I worked for the drug task force it was one of the places agents prayed they wouldn't get called to. Lot's of booby trapped fields and hairy backwoods type fellers who carried automatic weapons.

Maybe that don't worry anyone else, but I wouldn't dump my dogs just anywhere is all I'm saying.

Yeah waylon i have seen some stuff there lol im not saying nothing lol along time ago at the store there you could get hats that said HANNA watermelon and weed capital of the world lol we hunt there alot and keep to spots we no and don't look around to much lol my hunting buddy lives there and thay all no us now, that's the only place I now of you can stop at the store next to a cop and get out with a gun strapped on and nobody even looks at you funny  ;D

That's exactly what I'm talking about, it one of those places that you gotta see to believe.
   

See to believe is just right  ;D the first time I hunted there we stoped at the store to get a cold drink and one of the guys I was hunting with had a 45 on his hip there was 2 hanna cops acoss the street I told him "boy you better take that gun off"  he laughed and said in quote "dude come on this is hanna thay see this crap all the time" and what's funny is thay just looked at us for a second and then looked away  ;)

but yea first time i went dwn there was two fourwheelers drivin thru town with two shot guns on there racks an i met th guy i hunt on he got out with a pistol and his son got out with a rifle i was like what th heck lol

bayem there is no telling what a guy can see there lol hell of a place lol, and im about 30 minutes west of hanna on 75 hwy wetumka, ok almost as bad as hanna lol alot of guys no me or have hunted with me my name is Coal Dilday.
