I had 12 born on Friday...already down to 6 and I've never lost more than one pup from a litter. (Never had a mid-summer litter either) Here's a hint a guy recently shared with me that might help you as well. Take a big bath towel, wet it and wring most of the water out but leaving it pretty damp. Fold it over a time or two and put in the welping box and let the pups lay on it.
