Title: How long do pitbulls grow? Post by: okboarhunter on July 28, 2011, 09:40:14 am I have a 6 month old blue pit.
Sire-110lbs Dam-60lbs Smoke is currently 55lbs last time i checked. Was kinda curious how much bigger he might get. He looks little to me but i set my standards so hi cause mt last pit was 140lbs. anyways he not to short leged and really bulky. im just kinda hoping he will get to about 90lbs. Post by: leonidas on July 29, 2011, 09:07:20 am Genetics is the key to how big he will get. Mom and dad are an estimate on what he will be. Although if he has a gene from back when. He could be smaller or bigger. I honestly think food quality and amount is like 25% what changes a dogs size in its lifetime.Just my thoughts tho. I know a certain group was taking blocky mastifs and mixing the pitbull breed together to make bigger blocker animals. I think you can expect most dogs to stop growing at about 2ish years. There isn't really a fine line tho

Post by: rdjustham on July 29, 2011, 09:29:34 am beats me. maybe because hes out of "blue" dogs and not "red nosed"? But honestly i have no idea.. mine isnt black but hes close to it.
Title: Re: How long do pitbulls grow? Post by: okboarhunter on July 29, 2011, 09:37:40 am i do remeber my ol dude starting really filling out at one yr, just cant remeber his weight at six months to compare. i know at 16 weeks he was 50 lbs.
and idk on te blue thing, smoke is a blue with fawn brindel. pretty good lookin color wise just cant get these dang pics to upload at wrk. Title: Re: How long do pitbulls grow? Post by: TColt on July 29, 2011, 11:57:16 pm Dang! my Dogo is 50lbs at 18 weeks, but he is all legs and head. That must have been a big pit, was he pure pit?? ADBA allows pit/mastiff crosses to be registered as pits. I dont know why, but I think it is all the sled pull stuff. I have never heard of a game bred that was even 100 lbs, Im sure people have them, I just never heard of or seen one in person.

Title: Re: How long do pitbulls grow? Post by: hog tied on July 30, 2011, 12:32:59 pm How many people have owned an original pit bull? The 40 pounders that resembled curs with a lil more head
Title: Re: How long do pitbulls grow? Post by: tmatt on July 31, 2011, 02:07:42 pm Okboa.rhunter, not trying to start anything, I just call it how I see it. I have to call bs on the 140lb "pitbulls". Either the dog is not 140lbs or the dog is not a Colby dog. I know it sounds cool to say "I have a Colby/Rednose dog but the reality is most people haven't ever seen the name Colby on a set of papers. Rednose just refers to the color of the nose, it is not a bloodline. There is a family of dogs that dogmen call Old Family Rednose and this refers to a group of different old bloodlines of dogs that came rednosed, such as the Hemphill and Wilder lines.

Title: Re: How long do pitbulls grow? Post by: hog tied on July 31, 2011, 06:07:27 pm I'd prolly guess that most people don't know what a true pit bull is
