Title: Pup sounds like something is in his throat. Post by: Swine-Stalker on August 08, 2011, 06:01:36 pm My pup just started hacking a little and when i exercised him today he sounded like something was in his throat on every exhale. When he is walking it is gone. He is in a 6x10 kennel and I also saw him eating his stool yesterday before my every other day cleaning. I plan on bringing him to the vet this weekend. Any input on what is could be? He is 3 months old and has had shots but not parvo vaccine. Thanks in advance.

I will probably bring him anyway I would just call the vet 1st, that way it dont spread. Most of the time they will cough like that for a week or two then get over it, but any dog that gets anywhere near it will get it. It passes in the air. I have him in a pin by himself. When I let him out the day I discovered the problem he did run and greet both grown dogs then went on a run around the yard. I will monitor it, and he will be at the vet this weekend. Chelsee- I havent wormed him lately. I am working on getting him on the same schedule as the other dogs. I missed a month and a half. All the dogs are coming up on the 15th Thanks to all Title: Re: Pup sounds like something is in his throat. Post by: SCHitemHard on August 10, 2011, 09:19:12 am is your dogs nose drippy wet? when he coughs is it more like a hack cough or like a struggle to breath cough? also how is his energy level compared to before you believe this started? i know really bad cases if a dog is running a fever, thats when i would take him to a vet, if not there are some home remedies to help it get over it.
ive handled alot of dogs with a mild cough before by using a humidifier, or even take it in the bathroom when you take a shower, it will keep its throat moist and keep it from coughing. now ive done many other things according to how serious the cough is but keeping the air wet will help it, also try boosting its immune system to help it fight it off. if not take it to the vet |
