Title: Big Cow Boar 7-6-11 Took a while to get around to posting. Post by: brandonb on August 09, 2011, 11:31:50 pm We went out on a quick evening hunt to my buddies deer lease seemed pretty dead that evening until we heard the dogs start baying came around the corner and all we saw were cows so we thought thats what they were bayed on. We finally got through the cows and my older strike dog took of after something over the hill it looked like a hog but after we ran up on the cows my buddy had his doubts. All dogs finally tore out after him and bayed him up in some thick stuff. We started going in after them and heard dogs yelping like they were in a fight thats when we heard the grunting so we cut our catch dog loose. We finally got into him and got him tied and we realized how big he was. He had cut a pretty good gash into the left flank of my older strike dog, and cut one of my buddies young dogs a couple times. He had about an 1 1/2 cutters on him but they were definitely sharp. Im glad we didnt lose a dog in this mess just goes to show you sometimes you just have to trust your dogs. We had him weighed at a ranch we were going to sale him to weighed in at 268. The pictures dont do him justice, but the mile and a half drag by hand to the trailer sure did lol. Took a while to post it been on so many dry runs lately I decided to go ahead and do it.
