Title: Got some rain, a new place & a good young boar Post by: Boar Collector on August 15, 2011, 02:05:21 am Picked up a place right outside of town that's about 1500 acres of river bottom and coastal fields. Me and a buddy drove my new GeoTracker out there around lunch time to get familiar with the land and check for hog sign. There were a ton of tracks after the rain and got some pics of two of the bigger ones and this hog skull and on the way out busted up a 200lb. red boar hog from a tank.

It wasn't long before we had a few barks and then the race was on. They ran him in a half mile circle before Rebel & Hank sat down bayed around 600 yards behind the truck. Drove to 150 yards and sent Blue and Max into a briar thicket to seal the deal. This hog did not want to die and it took about 5 minutes of stabbing to finally get him down lol. Told Rance we'd leave him one in his yard so we loaded him up got some quick pics and took him to his house. He'll love his surprise in the morning when he leaves for work.
