Title: Lets see some Pig Sticker pics
Post by: Swine-Stalker on August 25, 2011, 10:13:20 am
I am thinking about getting another knife or trying to make one. Just wondering what types of knives yall use. Include pictures if possible. Store bought or home made knives. Mine is nothing special and probably the most common, but it gets the job done.

The buck 119 is my favorite..... 6 inch blade, light weight, goes in easy, and you wont cry too hard when you loose it in the woods...  ;)

I thought that was my knife till I saw the sheath. :) The only one you will ever need for pig sticking...unless you lose it or give it away.

Waylon,
I like those knives, they do not look bulky or heavy...

sog dagger is my choice. Great for sticking and versatile enough to skin a white tail / or backstraps  :o

I HAD a bayonet til I lost it last week. Carried it stuck down in my snake boot. No tellin how many mi I carried that way, never had any problems. But after I finally made it out of that mtn laurel thicket and onto a trail, I looked down and noticed it was gone, and wasn't about to crawl back thru that stuff to look for it. $10 at the flea MIT.

Sounds like a good idea... I wouldnt mind toting a bayonet in the woods. I may have to look for one on the ol puter.
