Title: 10-22-11
Post by: shankem on October 24, 2011, 08:33:19 pm
Hunted with GET.LOW.CURS and his dogs struck this boar. Bug was helping them and the boar would bay and break and the longer we ran the futher he got, so I cut Tip at 600 yards and no more running. Caught hog, wrecked curs, and broke in my latest junk yard shank. Bug got it the worst; cutter went in under his jaw, thru the mouth and out the eye socket. Then the boar pulled it out and slit his throat right in front of the cut collar.

Thanks Noah; I feel horrible about getting Mike's dogs wrecked. I should have never cut Tip that far with someone else's dogs around. I owe him BIG time!

Bug is healing well and eating like a horse. Venison and eggs on my boy's feed for a month or so. Primor is doing a fine job on infection. I'm glad I cleaned my sick bay. Thanks for everything GET.LOW.CURS.

It's uncanny; I can match scars on my boys. ;)

Thanks; Tip was bred by trappers in the panhandle. I hunt with a littermate female from time to time and I've had him a little over a year and he's coming 2 yrs. old.

That's one of GET.LOW.CURS pups; he's out of my Mauly and a cat x bmc x plott.

Bug's wounds are looking good but he's on leave at least a few more weeks to regain his strength. Heart is highly rewarded on my yard. He's about 2 1/2 and was the oldest dog on this hunt; I'm considering a shorty vest when I hunt him next.
