Title: Fat Barr Hog Post by: Boar Collector on November 26, 2011, 09:10:36 pm Went out today with my little brother Bryce my buddy Josh and a couple of friends from Erath County, Landon (Purebredcolt) Zach (ZachW) & Casey. We had Rebel and Blue for bay dogs and 3 bulldogs. We rode around for a little while with a whole convoy of interested ranch guests behind us before we let Landon's blue dog off to hunt down the road. We drove on and finally got on the back side of the cedars where the dogs had the strong wind in their favor. Rebel bailed from the flat bed and took off down the road with Blue & I could tell he was winding one. I watched him on the Garmin until he showed treed and I told Zach to stop. He killed the truck and I could hear him chopping 3-400 yards away. Got Blue to him and they bayed good until we got there and then they broke. The hog ran about 700 yards and bayed like a champ. He broke again when we got there, but only went 100 yards or so. We sent the bulldogs and they handled him really well. It was a real fun hunt and the guests were really impressed compared to the ole American Hogger's shoats ;) Thanks for the invite Zach and Landon, he's definitely the fattest hog I've ever caught & I got to put my little brother on his first pig..... he's ruined. Zach works on a ranch high fenced that they turned loose 10 barrs about 10 years ago. Well they have been doing nothing bug getting fat all this time. Well owners had some clients that had seen amreican hoggers and lady hoggers etc and wanted to see it for them selves so here we come in catch the pig they take pics we take pics and then get to turn the pig loose again. Kinda a weird deal but it was one heck of a hog we guess about 400 with about 5 inch teeth. He was not long but he was tall and BIG around. We had to use the truck to pull him out and he pulled up a cedar coming out. Cut him loose and I jumped on the flat bed he stood up and looked at the truck and hauled butt. Would have liked to kept him and see just what he weighed
