Title: another outlaw feed question
Post by: charles on December 05, 2011, 08:37:47 pm
i switched my dogs over to the feed and has noticed the poo is a little on the dry and crumbly side of things. it looks more like a couple days old cow poo during the summer time, but its right outa the factory for the dogs. they drink pleanty of water, but seem to be drinking more water than usual when i was feeding diamond. has any1 else had this problem?

Charles,

How long have you been feeding it?  Your description to me doesn't sound like a problem at all.

X2 I saw the same thing with the stools but I that's what I like. The only reason I switched to diamond was convenience and I get the same results with stools.

just switched over a couple days before turkey day. im no doc, but if they r pooping out a turd thats crumbly, and drinking a lot more water than when on diamond. that is telling me it is dehydrating them. im gonna buy another 400lbs today and try it some more, but i would rather see a solid moist turd, not something that looks like a overly dry brownie that crumbles. i guess its the stuff the feed is made out of. may try another type of outlaw this nxt go around.

It will take a dog several weeks to adjust to ANY feed change no matter the brand.  If your feeding one of the no-corn products, they're going to have a drier stool.  Because I keep all my dogs on concrete, that is my preference...much easier to clean.

i talked to travis today and he said the feed has less water in it than mass produced food which would account for the dryness of their poo. less water is better for more product per bag.
